A Baltimore city policeman is under investigation after this video surfaced. It captures an incident that took place at Baltimores Inner Harbor last summer. The Inner Harbor is where Baltimore meets the upper Chesapeake pretty much head on, and its both the citys main tourist attraction and one of its heavier crime areas. Visible police patrols have cut down on the latter. The kids in the video were evidently skateboarding in an area where thats prohibited, when the officer pulled up and told them to stop.
It appears that the officer told everyone to stop skateboarding and was in the process of leaving. However, one kid had his IPOD playing in his ears and probably didnt hear him. After the kid is told again to stop skateboarding, he talks to the officer disrespectfully. The officer goes to confiscate his skateboard but the kid doesnt comply, which leads to the officer forcefully collecting it from him. The kid obviously didnt show any respect to the officer and deserved to get pushed around, while the officer obviously has some attitude (and probably authority complex) problems he needs to work out.
No skateboarding in the Inner Harbor has been a well-posted rule for years - these kids were just flaunting the law and they knew it. Even Cal Ripken would have slapped the smart-ass around.
Kid needs his butt kicked.
You’re absolutely correct. The cop was out of line.
We have three sons, all nice boys. Maybe too nice. I can understand the yelling, lecturing, or demanding respect. But that kid did not deserve to be put into a headlock and pushed to the ground.
You have to be specific with kids in telling them what to do. If the cop wanted the kid to move, he should’ve said, “Do you hear me now? Good. THEN LEAVE NOW. No skateboarding here.” THEN if the kid refused to comply, the cop might have had to take some sort of action.
But, that’s not what happened.
Did you hear at the end the cop said, “You got that camera on? If I find myself on...” And the tape stopped. I wonder what else he said. Probably, “If I find myself on youtube,...” What threat did he make for that, I wonder?
Oh my gosh. The outfit that cop was wearing was unbelievable. No wonder he thinks he don’t get no respect. He looks like a big fat bumblebee.
Ping
Losing about 200 pounds might also have elicited some more respect.
When I heard about this viral video at work, I thought the kids were acting like punks. But after seeing it, that cop really overreacted.
Punk vs Punk, yawn.
Remember when cops were among the most respectable members of a community?

Let’s just say it’s unfortunate-aka. Colin Powell reacting to Harry Belefonte.

Fat stupid cop with tiny penis syndrome
That dude needs to be fired. If that’s how this cowardly dude reacts with children, one can only imagine how much he could overreact with adults.
Those were the days when the only cop who went on a power trip was usually the big belly sheriff...and maybe when Barney Fife had the whole town jailed while Andy went on vacation ;)
Baltimore needs to work on their image, dressing like a clown and driving around in a clown car with a bad attitude? If you want respect, start looking like a LEO instead of a street sweeper. And don't tick yourself off and light into someone a second time, let it go.
The first time I saw that video, I didn’t realize that idiot clown was even a cop.
