McCain cuts deal with delegates to hand WV victory to Huckabee

Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee enjoys the first victory on Super Tuesday for the Republicans as he takes all 18 delegates in the state of West Virginia, winning 52% of the vote, although rumors abound regarding the McCain campaign's possible instruction to their delegates to switch to his side.

Mitt Romney finished second with 47% of the vote, followed by McCain at 1%.

Rumors are circulating that the McCain campaign instructed their delegates to defect over to Mike Huckabee's side as to avoid a Romney victory. Nationally, McCain is significantly ahead of Huckabee and can afford giving the state's 18 delegates to Huckabee, but certainly not to Romney, who was originally in the lead when polling began in West Virginia by a wide margin and trails McCain nationally by only 17 delegates.

Ma’am..

I’m sorry that you’re so seeting with rage that you fail to see reality here..

YOu have no proof that Huckabee has been “bought” off..and to say that he’s “prostituting” himself is quite frankly a rude thing to say.

I just have to shake my head that so many so “conservatives” in my party are choosing to support someone like Romney. Romney is not..and has never been a conservative...and he will not govern as a conservative.

McCain looks like he’d do virtually ANYTHING to get the nomination now,

Of course but why did Huck have to accept?

On the contrary. I want someone who can give as good as he gets. Politics isn't tiddlywinks, and I am a big beleiver in the Lee Atwater approach.

Romney gave as good as he got, he won the vote. Few gunslingers faced off with two opponents at once, it was one on one.

“At this point, I’m willing to vote for the Pope because I hate McCain that badly.”

Couldn’t agree with you more. I will not forget what John McCain has done to the conservative movement.

No need to say it any-more....it’s obvious Huckabee is in the tank for McCain....otherwise this deal doesn’t work. McCain knows Huck is prostituting himself for a VP and dares therefore Huck will cover his flank.

What’s going to be a nice gem among the rubble of the party is when McCain double crosses him and DOESN’T put him on the ticket.

Don't be naive.

Virtually any politician in Huck's place would have accepted the same deal.

He did a Monica for McAmnesty today. In return for his ‘favor’ McAmnesty had his delegates upport the Huckster. Will take a while to get the stain off the GOP after this.

Petootski is just very aaanngggrrryy at something or other.

Pay him no mind, he enjoys the thought of living with the hag for 4 years and simply chooses to roll over and not fight her.

He is free to do so, we are free to ignore his advice.

That ole geezer has no chance. If he wins it is over.

Sir,

This is a public forum. Debate and discussion are allowed and encouraged here.

If you don’t want to hear my opinions to your pronouncments..don’t post your opinions.

If you can’t handle people disagreeing with you, there is a party that enjoys limiting debate and discourse and shuts down any opinion not “approved” by the party line..the letters are DNC. :)

New sources, including an advisor to Gov. Mike Huckabee, have told the Arkansas Times that Huckabee and a senior member of his staff exerted behind-the-scenes influence to bring about the parole of rapist Wayne Dumond, who Missouri authorities say raped and killed a woman there shortly after his parole.
Judicial watch has Huckabee on their 10 most corrupt politician list for 2007.

I got an “urgent money” request from McCain about 2 weeks ago, and the next day got the same thing from the RNC. Sent them both back, but was unable to contribute...

Bush never whined and complained. Gore did..much like Team Romney is now.

If Bush team hadn't complained to the US supreme Court we would have president Gore and it would have been legal...the Florida Supreme Court could have handed the state to Gore legally.

There was nothing “shady” about what occured today in WV. No one force these delegates to vote the way they did. They were asked... Last time i checked that wasn’t illegal.

Clintonesque definitely. Like I said McCain and his supporters have a lot in common.

how much brains does it take to make a corrupt bargain?

The better question might be - how much pride can the noble minister take in an underhanded victory?

At what point do the Maniacs get it into their heads that unlike McCain, we who oppose him, are men and women of PRINCIPLE.

John McCain WILL NEVER earn a Right Wing Conservative vote in this election. He is DAO, and you all know it.

But this will not stop the childish b.s. blaming those of us who sit out this election. There is NO difference between Hillary and McCain, NONE. They are both democrats. Neither will ever get our vote.

John McCain and his Huckleberry had damn well better start asking all these Independent voters to finance his losing campaign too. We’re not going to.

Fortunately...as will be shown by today's vote...more rational minds will prevail.....and that will give you time to wipe the frothing spit off your angry face and tidy up before the Mccain Inaugural Ball.
