Thompson exposes Huckabee as the liberal he is!

How about Nancy?
He’s got a 100% pro-life voting record and has been endorsed by National Right to LIfe. His record IS out there.
I was on a blog last night (sorry, I do not recall which one), and someone suggested that maybe it was the NRA endorsement.
Voting for McCain destroys what remains of our sovreignty!
(IMHO)We need Fred.
I hope that it’s God’s will.
Other than a cutsie sound clip it will have no impact.
Others are saying that Thompson is playing hitman for McCain, knocking out the Huckster, and going for the VP slot.
Perhaps we get some McCain judges, overturn RvW, then Fred runs in ‘16... wait, how old would he be?
Other than a cutsie sound clip it will have no impact.
“It wont be them. They just had the guy from Pennsylvania (he ran for Senator but Bush backed Arlen) who is running it and he was touting Guiliani and Huckster. It did not seem to me like he would endorse him after that discussion.”
I don’t know about Ghouliani but there is no way that Club for Growth would back Huckabilly.
They have been trashing him for months!
I would love to be on the Fred boat. His boat is definitely the safest and most comfortable for a conservative. But until recently the Fred boat has been sitting in the dock, unable to set sail. And where is he headed? I want to get to November Victory; is that where Captain Conservative is going? I'm just not certain that his strict adherence to Reaganite principles and his tepid campaigning performance are the right coordinates for November Victory.
Look, I think that every true conservative on this website can agree that most, if not all, of the Republicans running for candidacy would be a hell of a better choice than any of the democrats. I’m a Fred-head myself, but if he were to lose, who do you think has better values between Billary or Huckabee? Fraudwards or Romney? Osama or Giuliani? Let’s not forget our number one priority: make sure that these demoncat whackos don’t get into the white house.
But when considering a primary candidate for the GOP, you have to acknowledge the liberal sides in all of the runners aside from Thompson and Hunter. Huckleberry might not come right out with the fact that he would levy taxes, but Thompson pointed out in past instances where his plans have leaned towards it. McCain, Romney, and Giuliani have all flopped on their positions in the past as well, in particular Mitt, swapping his position just before he ran for the GOP party.
In the following quote from the video in the OP, Fred describes the Reagan Coalition as consisting of "Limited Government" and "Strong National Security". Whether intended or not, he left out the third pillar of the Reagan Coalition- Social Conservatism... The Christians, whose candidate he was berating.
This is a battle for the heart and soul of the Republican party, and it's future. On the one hand you have the Reagan revolution, you have the Reagan Coalition of limited government and strong national security. On the other hand, you have the direction that Governor Huckabee would take us in. He would be a Christian leader, but he would also bring about liberal economic policies, liberal foreign polices.-Fred Thompson 01/10/08 (FOXNews: South Carolina Republican Debate)
