Duncan Hunter: "America is a Good Nation"
"To America's critics I would say this:
When you were hungry we bought you food, the Americans came.
When you were sick, the Americans brought you medicine.
When you were attacked, we left the safety of our own homes to come and defend you.
America is a great nation because America is a good nation!"
An oldie but still a goodie. Gets straight to the point!

bump
Excellent and very quotable!
BUMP
It’s amazing how a concept so simple, obvious and grounded in the truth can be either ignored or forgotten by so many people. Duncan Hunter will remind them when he becomes President.
B4DH!!
..sorry, didn’t see your link
Wow, bump!

Absolutely top bloke, Hunter. With Australia a bit down at the moment, I’d like to see America get some politicians in office who aren’t just greedy thugs (read: Democrats). From over here, it looks like you have some good options for the Presidency.
obligatory bump.
BTTT
I remember reading a quote from Fred a couple months after this. Now it’s funny that people try to claim Fred is all no nonsense when he doesn’t have a record of it concerning the Demonrats and how he was as Senator. Duncan Hunter has been this way since he was first elected! It’s who he is and he doesn’t have to act a certain way to play to conservative doubts. In fact, I believe Fred is trying to play Duncan Hunter but obviously doing a bad job of it as with the hype he can’t live up to and the fact that people aren’t inspired by him. It’s rather the Hillary and Rudy McRomney fear that gets to people and makes them senseless!
Things that make you go Hmmmmm....

Hunter tops Thompson - misses NFRA endorsement by 2%
(Ames, Iowa)... The National Federation of Republican Assemblies, who calls themselves the “Republican Wing of the Republican Party,” held a straw poll at its convention in St. Louis last weekend and California Congressman Duncan Hunter exceeded all expectations. Hunter missed receiving the official endorsement of the Assemblies by a couple of percentage points. After seven rounds of voting by the endorsement committee of the organization, Hunter received 64.8 percent of the balloting, less than two percent of the two thirds vote needed. After seven ballots Fred Thompson was the only other candidate considered. Hundreds of conservatives attended the event that attracted six GOP presidential candidates.
After the general Assemblies vote, convention delegates were charged with making a formal endorsement of one candidate. Their rules required that the delegates cast their votes while in session for candidates that they wish to endorse. Only candidates receiving more than 15% of the delegate’s votes in the first round of voting in the second session were considered for endorsement. After that vote, only Hunter and Fred Thompson received more than 15% of the delegate’s votes. After the seventh and final round of voting Hunter had 64.8 percent support, less than two percentage points short of the needed vote. Thompson had 35.2 percent. The assemblies made no endorsement.
Tom DeLay was the keynote speaker of the convention telling fellow conservatives that unless Republicans “get their act together” in a hurry, Senator Hillary Clinton will become the next President of the United States.
There’s the Hillary fear again! I am honestly backing Hunter because he is the best and offers up the best opportunity in a general election. I will not SETTLE for anyone!! Fred couldn’t count on people settling in a general election because they will act like they are electing Bill again. And, incredibly, he still holds well in the electorate today. We had better be prepared and Duncan Hunter is the man to get behind. He’s more than a name and it is clear people had better look at how a candidate campaigns, speaks, comes across and their true worth because polls change so often. I believe it should be clear that Fred has doubters and that is never good. We should never settle and it’s time for people to get behind Duncan Hunter because only then do we change things.

Please join the Duncan Hunter group on LinkedIN.. and add a Duncan Hunter LOGO to your profile.. I have pre-approved all of my known contacts. If you are not automaticaly approved give me a day or so to get you added to the list.
Soapbox time... please hang with me...
OK FOLKS — THIS IS WHERE IT’S TIME TO STEP UP !!
We are getting very close to the PRIMARY... If we want Duncan Hunter to have a chance at winning the nomination we need to pool our collective resources.. Reach deep into our contact list.. and be willing to stand up “virtually” and say....
I SUPPORT DUNCAN HUNTER
That is the POWER of the LinkedIN network.. I know a lot of folks like to keep their “politics” separate from the “business” and there are good reasons for that.... and I respect those who feel that way.. but I think it’s time to step out of our “comfort zone” a bit..
One of the reasons the campaign is lagging in fund raising is that there is a PERCEPTION that he is not well known.. well I now KNOW that is just not the case.. rather it is an excuse.. a lot of folks don’t want to be seen by their peers as supporting a guy who “can’t win” — they think it will damage their reputation or business or whatever....
THAT is the reason I started the Duncan Hunter group on LinkedIN... this IS the 21st century folks like it or not.. virtual networking is here to stay.... and it’s only going to get bigger... I just STARTED building my virtual network and I am shocked how large it has grown in such a short time.. you can do the same.. believe me... I started with just my close personal friends and worked my way out from there.. One thing is for sure.. there is nobody that knows me personally that does not know who I support in the GOP PRIMARY.... can you say the same?
If your closest personal FRIENDS don’t even know who you support in the GOP PRIMARY than I am afraid we WILL lose this thing....
It is not too late folks.. get to work building your network.. you can do it in about 2-3 hours... trust me.... If I can do it in between combat operations than I am sure you can do it on your lunch break, or get out of bed a couple of hours early to get it done... JUST DO IT !!
Ok.. I am done ranting.. Here is the bottom line folks. if we (Duncan Hunter supporters) don’t get some serious momentum going in the next 2 weeks.. this campaign is over.. don’t here me say that I am giving up.. I am just being REAL folks.... that means time AND money... I believe if we put the TIME in first.. The money will follow...
NOW.. here is what we all need to do..
STEP 1 - Click on this link to add the Duncan Hunter logo to you linkedIN profile.. if you are not already a linkedIN member you can join from the same link.... it’s time to join the 21st century... http://www.linkedin.com/e/gis/43280/032ADD6E3AB2
STEP 2 - Build your network and inivte your contacts to add the Duncan Hunter logo to THEIR profile
STEP 3 — REPEAT STEP 2
TOWARD VICTORY !!
What a bunch of wussies the republican party has become.
After the seventh and final round of voting Hunter had 64.8 percent support, less than two percentage points short of the needed vote. Thompson had 35.2 percent. The assemblies made no endorsement.

Fred has a fatherly type style that gives you the sense of a greater inner strength. Obama is preachy. Hillary, for lack of a better word, is b*tchy. Rudy has a hyper talking entertainer or celebrity flair. Even W had a slight arrogant tone when he campaigned which annoyed me at times.
Bottom line, your presentation has a profound effect and people want to feel(apparently whether they know it or not) slightly pushed around by their President. (Don't ask me why...maybe human nature.)
Well..there it is, for better or worse.
I would love to see some focused competition between Fred and Hunter. That would be thrilling.
