Yeah? Where in the Republican Party platform do you find those points?
They're the Party zeitgeist, it's true...but how we expect to defend freedom by diminishing it is really rather beyond me. You gotta keep a sharp eye on government; the Founders and Ron Paul understood and understand that, as do I.
Apparently, however, you big-government Republicans are all about crafting big ugly sharp domestic power tools to hand to the next liberal administration. Thanks, guys...that's a big help. [/sarcasm]
“The Republican talk is to win in Iraq, win the GWOT by using the tools necessary to go after terrorists, including partiot act, surveillance, gitmo, etc.”
Yeah? Where in the Republican Party platform do you find those points?”
It’s in the 2004 GOP party platform. Just look.
“how we expect to defend freedom by diminishing it is really rather beyond me.”
strawman argument. Fighting the war on terror, having a patriot act, etc. do not diminish our freedoms, but protect them from beign robbed by terrorists.
This what the GOP platform says on it:
“Bush, Cheney, the Congress, and governors across the nation have taken significant steps to streamline the federal government; tighten security at entry points like ports, airports, and borders; strengthen protections at critical infrastructure landmarks such as power and water plants; and reduce the threats of bioterrorism and cyberterrorism. Through all their actions, Bush and Congress have been careful to protect the rights and liberties that make America a beacon of freedom and justice.”
“Apparently, however, you big-government Republicans ..” That’s a slander. I am anything but that.
