OK, you know I find you the most reasonable of all the Paul supporters, with a couple of exceptions, but middle America as Paul’s base?

I’ll grant that many come from middle America...

He has more grassroot interest than all of the other GOP candidates combined save for Fred Thompson.

"Grass" roots? Yeah. He's probably got a lot of that support.

You and I may not see eye to eye at times, but damn, that’s funny no matter who you are...

You have no compelling arguments against Paul, just more of the same name-calling and smears that’s been regurgitated by brainwashed FReepers who march in lockstep to the GOP establishment.

I am trying to envision what you saw, makes me smile.

At 55mph I was past before I could honk, but it was a sight to behold. 3 guys standing in a soggy corn field, one playing a full grand piano. Mercy! And I hope it was an old piano, because the rain was a comin'.

I had to get back to town for an 80th B'day celebration for a Kiwanis buddy of mine. I told him about the encounter and it gave him a good laugh. Glad to see that because he's a fellow who's had his share of problems. Yet, his sense of humor is still the sharpest I've seen in a long time. He keeps me in perspective. Sorta unlike True Believers doncha think? :)

Doggone it, that could be one of the guys I saw watching the piano player (see my post #317). Must be a True Believer...

Sounds like fun. Also glad to met a fellow Kiwanian.

Gee I hope I spelled that right, would not want to upset anybody who may judge such things...

I just found out my wife has a copy of his book somewhere. She is a psychologist and used it on a paper once. I am going to look for it and give it a read. We maybe onto something here...

YOU call me deluded, and then when I say you are full of it YOU complain about name calling. Nice. I call it what it is. You don’t like that I call it as it lies, that’s your problem not mine. Enjoy the loss of your candidate come the primary. As with the DemoncRat Cookoocinich, RP will die an ugly political death. The fringe always cracks me up.

You are aware that national polls are based on samples of similar size?

“The Republican talk is to win in Iraq, win the GWOT by using the tools necessary to go after terrorists, including partiot act, surveillance, gitmo, etc.”

Yeah? Where in the Republican Party platform do you find those points?”

It’s in the 2004 GOP party platform. Just look.

“how we expect to defend freedom by diminishing it is really rather beyond me.”
strawman argument. Fighting the war on terror, having a patriot act, etc. do not diminish our freedoms, but protect them from beign robbed by terrorists.

This what the GOP platform says on it:

“Bush, Cheney, the Congress, and governors across the nation have taken significant steps to streamline the federal government; tighten security at entry points like ports, airports, and borders; strengthen protections at critical infrastructure landmarks such as power and water plants; and reduce the threats of bioterrorism and cyberterrorism. Through all their actions, Bush and Congress have been careful to protect the rights and liberties that make America a beacon of freedom and justice.”

“Apparently, however, you big-government Republicans ..” That’s a slander. I am anything but that.

There must be 216 people willing to throw their vote away in any state, so it’s nothing to write home about.

I would even say you could find 216 in any medium-sized city who are willing to do that.

Like P.T. Barnum said, there's one born every minute....but a majority they do not make. :)

If I've slandered you, I apologize, because that was not my intent. However, you may want to take a hard look at the actions of our current president, and the kind of authority he'll be handing over to some liberal authoritarian administration down the road...because it's inevitable, you know. If it isn't Hillary and it isn't next year, it'll be some scion of the Kennedys or a Kerry grandchild or some other socialist with a powerful sense of entitlement and no conscience who one day steps into the Oval Office.

Our descendants won't thank us on that day.

They’re as sanctimonious a lot as you’ll ever meet, these Libertarians pretending to be conservatives and constantly scolding us about Bush, the constitution, and the need to capitulate to America’s enemies.

I am convinced that GWB is now the de facto campaign manager for HRC.

Was Elvis playing the piano?

You bash on Ron Paul and then run around claiming to see men playing grand pianos in local cornfields.

No, it wasn't Elvis. He was in NH voting for Ron Paul.

And, frankly, I don't care whether you believe me or not. I saw what I saw.

"Where is Alabama???"

It is where our beloved "Tonk" who recently died was from.. You know the state who's congressmen did the majority work to stop the illegal amnesty bill... The state that for a few early days led the leader board in donations to FR during the last FReepathon... The state that probable hasn't voted for a liberal for president since before Reagan.

The last liberal AL supported for President was GA Jimmy, who had the endorsement of George C. Wallace.

strawman argument. Fighting the war on terror, having a patriot act, etc. do not diminish our freedoms, but protect them from beign [sic] robbed by terrorists.”

So we diminish our own freedom to save it from being diminished by terrorists? How smart is THAT????? And, yes, our own liberty IS diminished, substantially, by such usurpations of power as are committed by the “patriot” act and others like it. Do YOU suppose that co-presidents clowntoon would hesitate for one nano-second to call conservatives and FReepers domestic terrorists and have us all sent to the labor camps, using these powers? If you do, you are worse off than I could possibly imagine.
