The difference is that while in the senate, Thompson had a solid pro-life voting record. He didn’t just “change” yesterday. Every time it counted he came down on the pro life side, which why he was endorsed by a pro life group.

Every single time the abortion issue has come before Romney, he sided with life as well. Vetoing bills on embryo farming, embryo cloning, somatic-cell nuclear transfer, emergency contraception, a re-definition of life. Opposing efforts to lower the age of consent, promoting abstinence education. Call this pandering if you like, but Romney’s actions on life, in the bluest state in America, are heckuva alot more significant then generic, on the margin, pro-life votes that come before the senate.
