• Just how many of you actually have used a firearm "for real?" Compared, say, to the millions of NRA members, military and LEO types who DON'T buy into your agenda? For that matter, how many on the left have even the faintest clue of how to load and aim one of those nasty firearms? I hear a lot of noise here . . . most of it absolutely laughable (and I am indeed laughing heartily). "Ooh, I couldn't shoot an animal." "Oh, I'll just kneecap them." If the government, much less the VRC, ever comes after you, they won't be aiming at your knees and they won't have any compunction about pulling the trigger . . . at least twice, to be sure, while you're still figuring out the philosophical justifications. As a proud member of said VRC, I can tell you I am not - just yet - your enemy . . . but you don't want to make people like me such, because if it should come to pass, I guarantee I won't be sighting on anything except hearts and heads - which I can hit reliably off hand to 200 yards and from a rest at much longer distances . . . nor will I hesitate to shoot. Looking at these posts, I see at most three people who might be able to get off a shot if the flag went up. The rest of you are kidding yourselves. The VC and the Islamic crazies had / have training. Who's gonna teach you? Nancy Pelosi? Give me a break.

It is truly puzzling how many libs really believe that Christians are a bigger threat to their liberties (not to mention their lives!) than muslims. My sister is a well educated college prof, but also a liberal, and is absolutely convinced that Christians are trying to take over the country and force her to pray. She even wrote a letter to the editor of our local rag, warning against the evils of insidious Christian indoctrination in the public schools. She has no kids, or she would know that its islam they are trying to ram down our kids throats and that Christianity is never even mentioned, much less practiced.

It's a nice .40cal Ruger Semi-Auto, and it scares the living hell out of me. I've taken it out the the shooting range a few times now and there are no questions that it will obliterate anything unfortunate enough to be on the receiving end.

What we have before us is the "a gun is a magic wand" crap that you get from watching too many movies. "I'll buy it and hide it away and when the Revolution comes I'll break it out and...and...and magic will happen!" Yeah, right. And you get extra accuracy by turning the pistol sideways.

I do recall the look on one of my mildly-left-of-center NPR-listening friends when he really did purchase a .22 rifle and was handed the customary sheaf of paperwork. First disbelief, then a realization that the nasty Republican federal government now knew he had a firearm. "They do delete this data, right?" he asked me. "Sure they do," sez I, "Don't you trust them?" He'll never be an NRA member but I think he got the point.
