Thats what this is to the DUmmie, a freakin action movie. They are clamoring madly to "save the day, just in time!". It is part of the self reinforcing delusion. They have, for 5 years now, warned of the impending DOOM in this country, and for 5 years, nuttin's happened. But DOOM is just around the corner, dontcha know, always JUST AROUND THE CORNER.
They keep moving that corner back, however, and in the case when they DO regain some kind of power, why, then, they will have saved the day! DOOM will have been prevented, just in the NICK of time, because they won!
Really, this is delusional thinking at its best.
It has gotten now, with the Democrats counting their chickens a little too soon, that if they don't take over at least one house of Congress, we'll see mass depression on a scale unwitnessed since, well since the canceling of "The West Wing". If, somehow, the Republicans actually made GAINS, there would be mass suicides...
They promise defections to Canada and suicides after every election loss. It never happens. We just can't get no satisfaction.
