I just had an idea. I would like to see Li'l Beaver in a variety of settings. For example, marching with the illegals recently, on the stage sitting with others when Bush gives a speech, among the mug shots of the Duke Lacrosse players. etc. I don't have much time for photoshopping that sort of thing but if others want to do it, be my guest. I will use the good ones to headline the DUFUs. I think it would be FUn!

Funny, but I checked the web site for this mighty liberal streaming media station of Shelby's yesterday when I sent you the link, and there was NO MENTION of this lightning bolt that "destroyed" -- or "really f**ked up"-- Shelby's equipment. I would have expected something to be there. After all, the web server was up. Wouldn't have taken long to modify the home page to inform listeners of her plight...

Hah! I just finished the shortest hunger strike in history (too bad, I could stand to lose some weight) -- roughly 10 minutes! Hallelujah, Charles has posted to a DUFU!

And an uninsured loss, sadly. No, STUPIDLY.
If this had happened to a Republican we'd be willing to give money...until we learned he didn't buy insurance. Moron!
How typically libbie: They don't pay to insure themselves and then demand others pay for her stupidity.

For some odd reason, despite surge protectors and various precautions, fax machines are particularly vulnerable to lightning strikes.Unplug the phone line when it clouds up...

I'm assuming you can order a cheap conversion kit to change it to lightning-only mode.

I have to say that I have seldom unplugged things, and I live in a frequent thunderstorm area. I do turn off everything electronic, and it's all plugged into UPS and surge protectors. In thirty years of doing this, I've had one surge protector fried to ashes, and no damage to any electronic devices. It may be a good policy, but I don't know of anyone who unplugs.I unplug now! Didn't used to, but had a "voltage surge" come thru my house a few years back. Fried a TV, stereo, my surge protector, my UPS, and 2 computers (including the power suplly on this one). Turned it all in on my homeowners insurance....no problem.
I have no idea what insurance cost where these nutballs live, mine is only $200/year here. But then again, I am a Republican (not rich, yet), so maybe that's why I have insurance....

I did not know this.....
So, with 2 sats in low earth orbit, located 180 degrees from each other, making 90 minute orbits. The longest wait for a zot would be 45 minutes, probably less, since the sats would have almost constant coverage from horizon to horizon. Very ingenious!
Question, how is a zot targeted? ISP address, known target, is it traced with some sophisticated instrument that detects and locates low brain wave activity/deficit IQ emissions, or a combination of all of the above?
(I realize that if this is Top Secret "need to know only" info, I don't really "need to know"....)
