This is going to end with cities on fire.
I guess I love you because you're so positive.
=:-o
J/K... and but seriously... let's hope not, although the real American-based-leftist-menaces are attempting to hijack this one, and that's ugly enough for me.
The border needs to be guarded, criminals need to be deported, and foreigners need to be assimilated.
I do not understand why there are some who wish to turn our neighborhoods into mirrors of the ones they left. It's the idea of cultural equivalence that needs to burn.

The public educrats are churning out PC little automatons, their heads filled with anti-American propaganda.
That's one of the sadder aspects of American life today, and one of the more important domestic battlefields we need to fight on.
Let's hope the gutless wonders in Congress do the right thing for once. Well, that was a nice vacation, but back to reality.
LOL. Geez... not even long enough to get a tan.

Thanks, EveningStar, for the ping. I know when in CA raised Prop 187; the furor was palpable. It took real guts to stand up and do those debates, and collect signatures.
And people scoffed and laughed. Heck, people in the other states laughed at we in CA exclaiming: It's just CA. CA always has a problem. And we asked for help from the other states. The resounding answer and reply:
"It wouldn't... it couldn't happen in MY state. It just only happens in CA."
I've heard numerous pro-illegal protestors argue the "jobs" aspect and refuse to answer questions about being in the USA, illegally. Breaking the law. Yeah, it's the same rant the pro-illegals delivered in the early 90s over CA's Prop 187. That they weren't criminals. Uh-huh.

Somebody is going to get tired of lawbreakers waving the Mexican flags of reconquista, there will be shots fired, and the Rodney King riots will be remembered fondly as a quaint episode.

Alia, you're pretty bright. Please tell me how being against illegal immigration makes one a racist.
That's what this whole thing is all about. You say you're against illegal immigration. The other fellow responds, "No, you're not. You're lying. You just hate Mexicans. Admit it. You're a racist! You wouldn't want them here even if they were legal."
I get tired of that crap.

We have totally screwed up what once was a migrant labor force that moved back and forth and transited the border when the work was done or there was a hiatus.
I understand your post, and your logically-placed intention... however, illegals are no longer "migrant workers". They are waiters and busboys and house framers and manicurists and delivery boys and shop clerks. They are absolutely doing jobs that Americans would do. I lived in Los Angeles for a decade and I can tell you that they are taking jobs that citizens want.
I don't know what the solution is. Well, except for my imperialistic desire to take over Mexico... we're paying the bills, but without the bonus of additional beachfront property.

You're here and you're not doing everything you can to repay the gift?Thomas J would very much appreciate that sentiment.
I remember your announcement here of you finally becoming an American citizen. You left no doubt to anyone who read your words how much you truly understand and appreciate the American ideal.
If more immigrants, and more than a few born here, would share your outlook we would indeed be a more perfect nation.

Let's hope terrorists don't smuggle a WMD into town under protest cover ;-)
Or any town under any cover. Sadly, I don't feel that confident. Or maybe I've just been reading too much Dan Simmons...
