(vainness) Looking for FReeper tips for fun stuff to do in Las Vegas in December

Hi all;

Mrs. F & I are gonna be in Vegas in the week before this Christmas and wanted to tap into FReepers' recent experiences there.

We're consulting all the travel guides, but also wanted to get some FReepers' feedback as to what they thought was fun/not.

Here's a partial list of stuff we're considering doing:

ON THE STRIP

DOWNTOWN

SOUTHEAST

NORTH

WEST

Are any of these things especially worth doing/avoiding? What have we missed?

Well, the best thing I can think of doing in Vegas in December is to MOVE THE HELL OUT OF THIS PLACE!

I have lived here for 10 years, and I am sick of it. It is fun if you are rich, which I am not. My business is harder and harder to run, I am losing money hand over fist to the rising cost of living and doing business, and I am totally surrounded by people (Mexicans) who don't speak English.

I am looking forward to moving to Boise, and back to America at the end of the year.

If it'll make ya feel better, I can come over to your house and talk English to ya all you want.

Hi,
I just moved here and I love the place. Be sure to visit the Belligio and go see the gardens as well as the water show. Freemont street is exciting. Best slots for me are at the Wyn and the Excalibur. Have a great trip!

We only have a few hours to squeeze in a Grand Canyon trip during our Las Vegas trip, so we're considering a helicopter tour.

Do any of you know if any of the Las Vegas helicopter tour companies have a particularly good or bad reputation?

Also, we're trying decide whether to land or just fly over. Do you have any experience with how cold it gets in the Canyon in mid-December?

Any other Grand Canyon helicopter tour tips and info would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, while I've been to Vegas more than 100 times it's always been for business. Never had the luxury of sightseeing.
