I saw a lot of humans in that town that could stand to fast for a few more days at least!

It's the "You owe me" mentality. It always amazes me when I have a discussion with one of these people and try to get them to explain their rationale for thinking that anybody owes them something. They usually get mad, and then if you push them a little more they get violent...and then...well...that's what we have now in NOLA on a large scale .

"Oh I understand but I level most of the blame on people like Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton for teaching the people that attitude." I think you would be right on with this assessment.

The Chicken Ala-King MRE is disgusting (IMHO) cold. But I hardly ever got one, and when I did, I could swap with other people who just didn't mind it.
Strangely enough, I developed a taste for the dried pork chop....just as it was....dried.... :-) It helped if you pretended it was some sort of strange, dry meat sandwich. :-)

"Ungrateful" - are you for real, or just a bit dim? This is not a term anyone with an ounce of compassion would use to describe someone stranded in New Orleans right now. Shame on you."
Apparently you have not been watching some of these people being interviewed!

The MREs have chemical heaters in the package. All the woman had to do was READ the damn thing.
Makes me want to slap some people!

When the b*tch gets hungry enough, she'll close her chops and start eating.
I'm not so sure... I think some people are stupid enough to starve to death with food all around them that they simply refuse to eat.

It's all about human dignity, and respect. Just because she's a refugee doesn't mean she shouldn't be treated with RESPECT.
...Now shut up, get your butt in gear, and bring me some HOT STEAK, peon!!

The people screaming the loudest are the same people who believe that government owes them something. They believe they're entitled to something. Granted this is a human tragedy of epic preportions, but you'd think those who are effected the most would appreciate what is being done for them. And what is being done for the people most effected by the aftermath of hurricane Katrina, is everything that is humanly possible.

When the b*tch gets hungry enough, she'll close her chops and start eating.Yup...as one of my friends used to say "You'd eat the a-hole out of a dead skunk if you get hungry enough!"
To: stan_25
Could the MRE fail to mee the standards of those who've enjoyed Cajun cooking?

"I saw her interviewed on Bill O'Reilly last night. I would have sworn she was over medicated, 'or something'."
I don't believe that for a minute. She was just a complaining, ungrateful b*tch! One of those type of people who thinks that everyone owes her! There are dead and dying, those with no roof over their head, or who are sitting ON their roof, and she's complaining that no one served her a hot meal since she got there! Ungrateful!

It doesn't bother me much that somebody is ungrateful. What bothers me is that they are actually OFFENDED as well as being ungrateful. ...and that offense turns to malice, and then is acted out in rage.
Then we have what we're seeing now. Armed soldiers making sure that ingratiousness doesn't transform into violence.
Truly amazing...

This typifies the mentality cultivated by liberalism for 50 years: you are entitled to have your wants and needs fulfilled by the government to the extent that the government must do it exactly to your satisfaction or you'll hearing from the ACLU or Legal Services. Damn the taxpayers, full speed ahead.
Oh, how it makes me cry for the legacy of self-reliance that made this country so great.

If you are complaing about not having any food, then complain more when handed food and you refuse it because its cold, you are ungrateful.
