Ante Up

Once the cards are shuffled,
And handed all around,
That is the hand you’re dealt,
Whatever you have found.

You cannot have do-overs,
Where Life is what is done,
“This ain’t exactly what I want,”
Just means you don’t know fun.

It’s not a game of aces,
Good cards at every turn,
But rather taking what you’ve got,
And applying what you learn.

Life has a way of making,
Good things from the mundane.
A busted flush can sometimes serve,
Who knows what you could gain?

Some think we’re here to master,
A special kind of task.
And maybe what you need to learn,
May not be what you’d ask.

I’d like to be a rich man,
And live a life of ease.
But anyone can do that much,
From school days earning “D”s.

Accepting what you’re getting,
With gratitude’s a plus,
That’s got to be the reason,
Why God puts up with us.

Morning

Over this past weekend I got on a little tear about political correctness and the outright attack on the religious roots of this great nation by the likes of the ACLU and the Democratic party. I came up with a new holiday to thwart their efforts. I thought I'd share the brief discription with you all.



Celebrestival


Celebrestival: That joyous time near the end of the year when people come together and celebrate whatever festival or occasion they deem fit.

Christians celebrate the birth of Christ.

Jews celebrate Hanukkah.

Some people celebrate Kwanzaa.

Some people celebrate retail sales.

Some people celebrate days off.

Some people celebrate food.

But no matter what the occasion all can come together and celebrate something and ALL can TOLERATE the other’s celebrations by keeping their mouths shut.

Atheists celebrate preaching tolerance as they go about not tolerating anyone or anything counter to their miserable lack of belief in anyone or anything. Do not let them win.

No one has the right to NOT BE OFFENDED! If something offends you ignore it and move along. I have never been in a Gay bar. If you are offended by my religion and culture, I find that offensive. Don't make me come over there after you.


After I wrote this down I got off my soapbox and had a beer.
