A London Bombing Appeal to the DU [vanity]

One very quick word to any DU lurkers here. I call on any sense of decency in you to please, for just one day, unite as Americans in our prayers and and expressions of sorrow for the Brits. Please don't look at this as a partizan chess game-- just for one day. Please discourage others from pointing fingers at our President and simply, politely respond as a united, mourning nation. [There's plenty of time to ponder conspiracy theories after today.]

At a time such as this, it is disgraceful for Americans to posture in a partizan manner.

Advice for your own self-interest: if you fail to heed my appeal, you will not benefit in any way, posturing today. It would be best to at least put on a show of class.

I agree with your sentiments. But, the DU was more mad that the bombings put the potential Karl Rove stories on the back burner. They do not care that the terrorists have committed a horrific and vile act, they do not care that people were killed or wounded. They are mad that their supposed "gotcha" on Rove has been pushed aside for the time being.

That ain't gonna happen. I have spent as much time reading there as I have here. I have seen everything from "It's all Bush's fault and Blair was in on it" to wondering how an attack on the US will affect Bush's poll numbers. And they are just barely this side short of hoping and praying for more. They are beyond redemption....at least until mommy & daddy wise up and kick them out of the basement and forcing them to actually work for a living

I think people like Fouad Ajami understand quite clearly that unless Islam reforms it will quite literally blow itself up, one way or the other. It's a race against time really.
