TERRI SCHINDLER (Schiavo)DAILIES May 11, 2005: DEMAND IMPEACHMENT OF JUDGE GREER
Free Republic ^ | May 11, 2005 | floriduh voter

Posted on 05/11/2005 10:11:57 AM PDT by floriduh voter

Freerepublic.com has a super-sized archive regarding Terri Schiavo. The Dailies thread is a digest of breaking news, venting, ranting, photos, prayers, poetry, contact numbers and serve as a meeting place. The daily thread runs itself for the most part.

Please put your links regarding justice for Terri on this thread or articles re: people who are waking up all the time and speaking because they've been given new treatments. Terri was denied a chance to eat by mouth at the end and she was denied new groundbreaking tests by Judge Greer. Instead, he stuck to his guns that she would be starved and dehydrated beginning on March 18th. What a man. It takes a big man to starve an innocent woman to death. This was ALL AGAINST THE FLORIDA STATUTES.

EXPOSURE IS ON THE HORIZON: Mark Fuhrman's book will be available at www.amazon.com by the end of June, 2005. Another book by Cheryl Ford, RN will be available soon.

The GOP is getting phone calls but they are not listening to their constituents on the issue of George Greer. Does the GOP endorse judicial tyranny? Ask them. Find out.

Possibly we can mend a divide in the Republican Party that is turning into a dangerous crevasse by demanding the impeachment of Judge George Greer, Sixth Circuit Court, Pinellas County, Florida.

If that sounds radical, please note that the democrats are in trouble as well for not saving Terri's life.

Greer had super powers over the Governor of Florida, over the US Congress, the President and over the FDLE. Greer who was in defiance of the US Congress and President is the one who needs investigation and impeachment but the RINO's in Tallahassee are reluctant to do their duty.

If Terri was killed because of money and power, let us find out how RINOS like Senator Jim King went into battle against Terri with the death lobby and the national trial lawyers. Senator Jim King of Duval County should not get a pass either, not ever.

Jim PROBABLY would get 20,000 pings a day by that rule, and I have gotten the impression as long as we play nice, we dont have to summon him to every single time we use his name here on any FR thread.

That's why I usually don't ping him. I was going to in response to your "woooohooo" post, but he's busy.

Jim, this discussion is so important, on so many different levels. I would like to thank you for allowing us to explore and expose judical misconduct, elder abuse, spousal abuse, and medical malpractice. I think I covered most of the important issues in that statement. The love of money is the root of all evil, and with Terri, Mae, and Scott, we see how unscrupulous relatives or spouses can cash in. This is vile and needs to be stopped.

If Free Republic means anything, then we should protect those who cannot protect themselves.

If there are no Terri-haters how come there are attacks on those fighting the killing of Terri?

Though I tried repeatedly yesterday to explain this to you in words you could understand, but I will try once again. Perhaps this time you will comprehend what we're saying.

We're not arguing about Terri; we're sick of the lies about what the WPPFF was about.

I know I'm sounding pessimistic about the petition initiative (there's more info in this post that I didn't include in the previous one)and I don't intend to try to hamper efforts to accomplish this but I think that when the idea was proposed to a constituent that it was not clear to those interested exactly how many hoops have to be jumped through. If Jim King was out of there I think it would be much easier to get new legislation than it might be to get this passed.

This is from vote smart Florida..(Div Elections info after it)

http://www.votesmartflorida.org/initiative_process.asp
In order to place an amendment on Florida’s ballot, the following steps must be followed and met.

1. The sponsor of an initiative must register as a political committee with the Florida Division of Elections.
2. The person or group circulating the initiative petition must submit a format of the petition to the Division of Elections before the amendment may be circulated for signatures. The Division reviews the proposed petition for formatting only. By law, the ballot title may be no longer than 15 words and the summary no more than 75 words.
3. Proponents may begin circulating the petition once the format is approved. This can be done by volunteers, by firms that are paid to obtain signatures or by a combination of the two. The minimum number of signatures needed for an initiative to be placed on the ballot must equal 8 percent of the number of the ballots cast in the last presidential election. For 2006, this number is 611,223. In addition, the signatures must come from at least half of the state’s congressional districts (12).
4. When the petition receives 10 percent of the required amount of signatures in at least one-fourth of half the state’s congressional districts, the petition is submitted to the Supervisors of Elections in the appropriate counties for signature verification.
5. The Secretary of State, in turn, must automatically submit the petition to the Attorney General if: 1) the sponsor has complied with registration and submittal requirements and 2) the sponsor has obtained a letter from the Division of Elections confirming that the petition signatures have been verified by the appropriate Supervisors of Elections.
6. Within 30 days of receiving the proposed amendment, the Attorney General must petition the Supreme Court and request an advisory opinion regarding compliance with the proposed ballot and format requirements. The Supreme Court has no deadline for issuing an opinion.

If the Court approves the petition, the proponents must gather the rest of the signatures needed to place the initiative on the ballot. The Court may not rule on the content of the petition. They can disallow an initiative for two reasons. One reason is if the ballot summary does not accurately reflect what the amendment is proposing. The second is if it violates Florida's strict single subject requirement.

Div Elections info....

Initiative Procedures

* The first step in the process of qualifying as an initiative is to register as a political committee pursuant to section 106.03, Florida Statutes, with the Division of Elections.

* The person or group circulating the petition is then required to submit a format of the petition to the Division of Elections for approval prior to the proposed amendment being circulated for signatures. The division will review the proposed initiative petition form for sufficiency of the format only. The division will not review the form for legal sufficiency.

* The substance of the amendment must be an explanatory statement, not exceeding 75 words in length of the chief purpose of the measure. The substance of the amendment must be styled in such a manner that a "yes" vote will indicate approval of the proposal and a "no" vote will indicate rejection. The ballot title shall consist of a caption, not exceeding 15 words in length, by which the measure is commonly referred to or spoken of.

* The substance and ballot title of a constitutional amendment proposed by initiative shall be prepared by the sponsor and approved by the Secretary of State in accordance with rules adopted pursuant to section 120.54, Florida Statutes.

* The top of the petition form shall be clearly and conspicuously entitled "Constitutional Amendment Petition Form."

* The petition form must contain the full text of the amendment being proposed including the article and section being created or amended preceded by a title and substance.

* Adequate space must be included for the signee’s name, street address, city, county, voter registration number, or date of birth, change of address for voter registration purposes, date and signature of registered voter, and any other information deemed necessary by the division. If the text of the proposed amendment is printed on both sides of the form, it should clearly indicate that the text is continued or begins on the other side. "Each signature shall be dated when made and shall be valid for a period of 4 years following such date,…."

* If approved, the petition form may be printed by the person circulating the petition on cards or individual sheets of paper. The minimum size of the forms shall be 3 x 5 inches and the maximum shall be 8 l/2 x 11 inches. Each form shall contain space for only one elector’s signature.

* Additional materials supporting the proposed amendment or providing a method by which the petition form may be returned may be printed on the form; however, the division will not review the accuracy or content of such material.

* Each petition form is deemed a political advertisement as defined in section 106.011(17), Florida Statutes, and must contain the identity of the payor as required by section 106.143, Florida Statutes.

* Form DS-DE 19 [pdf, 11KB] as adopted by the Division of Elections may be utilized as a sample format for petition forms.

Are you talking about the petition in my tagline?

So far none of the legislators will go on the record so to speak that they support impeachment. Supposedly Rep Simmons did but then his office backtracked and said it was a rumor.

Fact is though, if there are "enough" (who knows how many that would be?) Floridians who will call and/or write them requesting, they will get the message that it's what the people want and they might move their butts for once. Another fact is that Speaker Bense is ignoring correspondence to him on impeaching Greer and he isn't answering it! If people follow the link from the petition to my site they will see that it is suggested they call/write Bense and Simmons, the phone numbers and addresses are there, they don't even have to look them up.

The online petition does indicate to them the will of the country and others from around the world have signed it. I've gotten a lot of emails from all over and people can't believe that Greer is allowed to stay on the bench, or the other judges for that matter.

Some of the sigs were trolls and they were using the petition as a message board. There were extremely vulgar, profane (even sexually explicit) comments about Terri and her family. There were vulgar comments about freepers and it was obvious that the persons posting those comments were reading threads here at FR. Those had to be deleted and I pray the Schindlers never saw any of them, they were the vilest things. I can't believe someone would even utter such things!

Now, someone copied and pasted my petition, cut off the beginning and end of it and put it online addressed to the JQC. The JQC only accepts "written" complaints. I guess though if someone was willing to claim hours of work as their own that they would not have taken the time to find out what procedure to follow in making a complaint to JQC.

If you doubt what I say about the deleted sigs you can see a hint of what they were like by looking at the sigs on the copycat...

http://www.petitiononline.com/mod_perl/signed.cgi?jswede47&1

Another thing that's really sad about this whole thing is that the legislature is fully aware of Greer's blunders and the corruption that TEJ has uncovered. We should not even have to consider petitioning them, writing, or calling them in order for them to do the right thing. They know they can, they are fully aware of the authority they have to handle the matter but they won't!

They are all hiding under the Law to save their political butts from the wrath of the American Christian Community.

Here is where the majority of the Christian Denominations stand on the type of death Terri was subjected to.

Note to politicians.....don't even think this will go away.

ADDRESS OF JOHN PAUL II TO THE PARTICIPANTS IN THE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON "LIFE-SUSTAINING TREATMENTS AND VEGETATIVE STATE: SCIENTIFIC ADVANCES AND ETHICAL DILEMMAS" Saturday, 20 March 2004

"....I feel the duty to reaffirm strongly that the intrinsic value and personal dignity of every human being do not change, no matter what the concrete circumstances of his or her life. A man, even if seriously ill or disabled in the exercise of his highest functions, is and always will be a man, and he will never become a "vegetable" or an "animal"....

I should like particularly to underline how the administration of water and food, even when provided by artificial means, always represents a natural means of preserving life, not a medical act. Its use, furthermore, should be considered, in principle, ordinary and proportionate, and as such morally obligatory, insofar as and until it is seen to have attained its proper finality, which in the present case consists in providing nourishment to the patient and alleviation of his suffering.

.....As a pledge and support of this, your authentic humanitarian mission to give comfort and support to your suffering brothers and sisters, I remind you of the words of Jesus: "Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me" (Mt 25: 40).

SOUTHERN BAPTIST

"....WHEREAS, Western medicine has heretofore followed both the Judeo-Christian tradition and the over 2,500 year-old Hippocratic tradition forbidding physicians to assist in the death of their patients; and

WHEREAS, The Bible teaches that God created all human life in His own image and declares human life to be sacred from conception until natural death (Genesis 1:29:6 and following); and

WHEREAS, The Bible likewise teaches that murder, including self-murder, is immoral (Exodus 20:13); and

WHEREAS, American society seems to be embracing of the "culture of death"...."

Be it therefore RESOLVED, that we the messengers of the Southern Baptist Convention, meeting in New Orleans, Louisiana, June 11-13, 1996, affirm the biblical and Hippocratic prohibitions against assisted suicide.."

THE ORTHODOX CHURCH

...."Euthanasia is understood to be the view or practice which holds that a person has the right, and even the moral obligation, to end his or her life when it is considered to be - for whatever subjectively accepted reason "not worth living." Euthanasia advocates nearly always include in this assertion the right and duty of others, including medical personnel, to assist the person in fulfilling this purpose. Needless to say, the Orthodox Church rejects such a view, seeing such behavior as a form of suicide on the part of the individual, and a form of murder on a part of others who assist in this practice, both of which are seen as sins. Thus the Orthodox Church, in the words of 1976 Chrismms encyclical of former Archbishop Iakovos, considers "euthanasia and abortion, along with homosexuality...a...moral alienation."....

PRESBYTERIAN

"....Today there are mounting pressures upon medical professionals, pastors, families, and individuals to hasten the death of those under their care or authority. Such hastening sometimes takes the form of direct action, such as a lethal injection. It may also take a passive form in neglect or withdrawal of the necessary means of preservation of life. Such means include medical treatment, both extraordinary and ordinary. But they also include basic provisions normally understood as care, warmth, cleanliness, food, water, and love.

Christians must distinguish between "treatment" and "care". Where medical treatment which is not gravely burdensome is necessary for an individual to continue to live, the withdrawal of such treatment - except in cases where death is imminent and inevitable and to continue such treatment would pose a grave risk or cause more burden to the patient than it would alleviate - is a violation of the image of God which all men and women bear..."

So if the FL Supremes legislate from the bench and make up whole new laws out of thin air, and the citizens succeed in rounding up enough signatures, that very SAME FL Supremes can just say: "sorry, it doesn't hold up to the constitutional light"

Yes, looks like it. I'm beginning to understand why their needs to be a recourse above a state government for when the state government becomes corrupt.

I and hopefully many others here are really ready for the fighting to be over with.

I wonder if a few new threads should just state up front that the thread is for discussion only. Sniping, baiting, fussing, fighting, will have to go to an alternate thread to leave the thread discussion in peace.

Well that - or all just refusing to get into arguments - take them to freepmail and leave the rest of the thread alone. They sure do not win any whoopee's from me having to wade through that mess.

Seems much more fun to feel that all on FR are considerate, kind, friendly people with bright minds and opinions.

Just my opinion though - when I get mad, I can say lots.

Did anyone ping the FL FReepers about signing the petition, telling their friends and most importantly, writing letters to editors about this?

Maybe if a voluminous amount of Floridians sign it, it will pressure the Supremes - long shot, but sometimes long shots win.

When I started this thread, I was going to link it to an article at the empire journal but my thread was automatically deleted. If you saw the thread with the article, the title made more sense in light of the TEJ article.

Greer is not in very good health and he's going to make more mistakes on the bench in the future.

Terri should be alive today but money and power took precedent. Our entire govt. failed her, not just Greer.

Orlando Salinas asked me on the day that Terri died "What did you learn from this experience?" I said "Be careful who you vote for." (aimed at the president and jebbie). Jebbie held a press conference immediately after I was on Fox News and he was all pale and nervous - wonder why. Jebbie said he was coming to rescue Terri. The next day, Jebbie said there was nothing he could do. I told another journalist that Jeb Bush was the bi-polar governor; one day saving Terri and the next day betraying her. They all killed her and Greer was just the point man with powerful friends. Greer is a Republican and a bad one at that.
