TERRI SCHINDLER (Schiavo)DAILIES May 11, 2005: DEMAND IMPEACHMENT OF JUDGE GREER
Free Republic ^ | May 11, 2005 | floriduh voter

Posted on 05/11/2005 10:11:57 AM PDT by floriduh voter

Freerepublic.com has a super-sized archive regarding Terri Schiavo. The Dailies thread is a digest of breaking news, venting, ranting, photos, prayers, poetry, contact numbers and serve as a meeting place. The daily thread runs itself for the most part.

Please put your links regarding justice for Terri on this thread or articles re: people who are waking up all the time and speaking because they've been given new treatments. Terri was denied a chance to eat by mouth at the end and she was denied new groundbreaking tests by Judge Greer. Instead, he stuck to his guns that she would be starved and dehydrated beginning on March 18th. What a man. It takes a big man to starve an innocent woman to death. This was ALL AGAINST THE FLORIDA STATUTES.

EXPOSURE IS ON THE HORIZON: Mark Fuhrman's book will be available at www.amazon.com by the end of June, 2005. Another book by Cheryl Ford, RN will be available soon.

The GOP is getting phone calls but they are not listening to their constituents on the issue of George Greer. Does the GOP endorse judicial tyranny? Ask them. Find out.

Possibly we can mend a divide in the Republican Party that is turning into a dangerous crevasse by demanding the impeachment of Judge George Greer, Sixth Circuit Court, Pinellas County, Florida.

If that sounds radical, please note that the democrats are in trouble as well for not saving Terri's life.

Greer had super powers over the Governor of Florida, over the US Congress, the President and over the FDLE. Greer who was in defiance of the US Congress and President is the one who needs investigation and impeachment but the RINO's in Tallahassee are reluctant to do their duty.

If Terri was killed because of money and power, let us find out how RINOS like Senator Jim King went into battle against Terri with the death lobby and the national trial lawyers. Senator Jim King of Duval County should not get a pass either, not ever.

Off topic, but since we are all pro-life here:

A call to make on MONDAY. Or send an e-mail or perhaps leave a local
voice-mail.

We oppose a bill that will be voted on by the U.S. House on Tuesday that
would order federal funding of stem cell research that requires killing human
embryos.

H.R. 810, sponsored by Reps. Michael Castle (R-De.) and Diana DeGette
(D-Co.), would overturn the policy adopted by President Bush in 2001. President
Bush's policy bars federal funding of research that would require killing human
embryos. President Bush opposes H.R. 810.

The message is this: Please oppose H.R. 810, the Castle embryo-killing bill.

Call on Monday, because the vote is scheduled for sometime Tuesday. (from e-mail from RTL friend)

Good point, but I don't think they respond to phone calls. Remember, the calls did nothing to keep the popular Specter from chairing Judiciary. I was just surprised that the words "cowardly" and "Republicans" were already being used together in 1894!

Yes, that is interesting that "cowardly" and "Republicans" were already being used together in 1894.

Rush Limbaugh seemed to think that phone calls and lobbying from both sides are why the wavering senators are wavering.

When I called I told them that a Rasmussen poll showed that 57% of Americans wanted an up or down vote.

Just because we didn't win with Specter, doesn't mean we will lose everytime. Win some, lose some.

And, remember, Specter had to make all kinds of promises, and even met with pro-life attorney Jay Seculo (aclj.org) to make peace with pro-lifers. He would not have done this if it wasn't for the pressure from phone calls, IMO.

Another article today says that Senator Frist "has the votes" to get the simple majority for the judges. We shall see. The popular McCain is said to be especially opposed.

Thanx for the news. It sounds encouraging.

McCain is totally lacking in common sense.

St. Paul friar speaks on Terri Schiavo's last days

Curt Brown, Star Tribune
May 23, 2005

From a rather obscure life ministering to St. Paul's poor and disadvantaged, Brother Paul O'Donnell found himself thrust into the vortex of one of the most widely reported stories of the year.

O'Donnell, a black-robed Franciscan friar from a tiny St. Paul religious order, became the spiritual adviser to Terri Schiavo's parents and siblings. As Schiavo's feeding-tube case became front-page news, O'Donnell was at the family's side in Florida for news conferences and prayer sessions during the 13 days between the tube's removal and Schiavo's death March 31.

"You realize you're literally talking to millions and millions of people all over the world," O'Donnell, 45, said last week by cell phone from Rome, where he and five members of Schiavo's family were meeting with Vatican officials.

"As I travel in Italy, people recognize who I am and what I'm doing -- not that I did anything so great. But the fact that Terri Schiavo would still be in their minds six weeks after her death shows she truly touched the world."

O'Donnell is flying home to his Franciscan Brothers of Peace friary in the Midway neighborhood in time for a free speech at 7:30 p.m. tonight at St. Agnes Church in the nearby Frogtown area.

"I will share my perspective on what I call 'the Passion and Death of Terri Schiavo' and tell people what it was like for those two weeks when the feeding tube was removed," he said. "I'll share what Terri went through, what the family went through and what I experienced firsthand through her passion and death."

O'Donnell is among 10 brothers who took vows of poverty to dedicate their lives to helping the disadvantaged in St. Paul's inner city. When the group's founder and O'Donnell's dear friend, the late Brother Michael Gaworski, contracted bacterial pneumonia in 1991 and became severely brain damaged, O'Donnell's views on the issue were forged.

He has heard the other side of the argument, from Schiavo's husband, Michael, and those who insist that letting her die was the more humane option.

"It's profoundly sad that we still look with disdain upon the profoundly disabled and we make a judgment and say: 'Who would want to live that way?' "

"Given the choice, no one would necessarily want to live that way," O'Donnell said. "But people who are profoundly impaired are still made in the image and likeness of God."

O'Donnell, who met Schiavo's brother, Bobby Schindler, at a 2004 conference in Washington, said he is scheduled to give several talks such as the one Monday night, locally and nationally.

He has tentative plans to join members of Schiavo's family at World Youth Day in Germany this summer, where Pope Benedict is also slated to speak.

I think it was me who pinged you.

It's beyond logic that Greer would sign an order with such an obvious error. Then for MS to sign it with such an obvious error.

Could it be that it was intentional?

It does make me wonder though.

Eleanor Clift, popular Newsweek columnist, wrote today that McCain is so popular that he is certain to win the Presidency in 2008, either as a "Republican," a Democrat, or as an independent. He can win any way he runs, she says.

Hopefully that's wishful thinking on Eleanor Clift's part. McCain did not win the primaries the last time he ran.

I sure hope we get a strong, pro-life, conservative to run for president who also has strong voter appeal, as well of course.

I think it was Rush who brought out the fact that even though McCain is the media's darling, if he ran against Hillary, they would support Hillary.

McCain would quickly find out who his friends are.

I called Congressman Bill Young's office this morning. They took down name, address and phone number. HB TOMORROW re: embryonic stem cell research.

Call your congressman to vote "no" on ESCR. 1-877-762-8762.

On another note, my cat got frisky with a little lizard that found its way onto my backporch. I took the little guy outside and I didn't know if he's mortally wounded or injured. Sometimes, it looked like he was breathing or trying to.

I put him under some mexican heather in the yard and let nature take it's course. I feel awful that my cat got him but so it goes.

Greer declared a guy dead and gave the guy's property to a another party. When the guy went to show Greer that he was very much alive, he got kicked out of the courtroom.

If it was a slick move to hide assets while Michael is declared dead, it wouldn't surprise me.

Glad you called FV, and I hope many will call and tell their congresscritters to vote "No" for H.R. 810 (embryonic stem cell research).

Embryonic research has yet to treat anyone for anything. If the money being wasted on embryonic research were diverted to ADULT stem cell research, more people could be treated using currently available treatments and more funding would be available for clinical trials such as the one Harvard is planning for diabetes treatment
http://www.stemcellresearch.org/pr/pr_2004-08-20.htm

For more on the progress in adult stem cell treatments see.

http://reasonmclucus.tripod.com/stem_links_1004.html

BUT the most important reason of all for reps voting "No" to H.R. 810 is that it is immoral to kill one life for the benefit of another.

Alexander Hamilton wrote in Federalist Paper 76 that the Senate's role is to refuse nominations only for ``special and strong reasons'' having to do with ``unfit characters.''

The libDems think "unfit characters" means different ideology.

Update on wavering senators - tell your friends. Sean Hannity said today that we really need to watch Senator John Warner (VA) 202-224-2023, or use toll-free number in my tagline for Warner and all senators

57% of Americans in Rasmussen poll say that "Senate rules should be changed so that a vote must be taken on every person the President nominates to become a judge." That's unchanged from two weeks ago.

Maybe we ought to tell our U.S. senators about this poll, and also tell those "swing" senators.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/2005/Judicial%20Nominations--May%2014.htm

Rush Limbaugh said that senators are wavering back and forth, partly because of pressure from the public. Let's get more phone calls and/or e-mails than the other side does.

Even if none of these WAVERING senators is your own senator,
please call 'em, anyway.

The last I heard the undecided GOP Senators are Collins (ME), DeWine (OH), and Warner (VA). Frist can afford to lose only two, because McCain, Chafee, and Snowe have declined to end the judicial filibusters.

We can call toll-free at 877-762-8762 .

E-mail info can be found here (but phone calls are more effective):
http://www.conservativeusa.org/mega-cong.htm

Urge each to FULLY SUPPORT THE FILIBUSTERING
RULES CHANGE and NO COMPROMISES.

Here's my e-mail to the sell-outs. Looking for constructive criticism.

Dear Senator _________:

Democrats all over the internet are gloating, because of the compromise, rather than the expected Constitutional option vote.

Many Republicans don't want to contribute to the Republican Party any more.

Please don't make the same mistake in June when Judge Rehnquist resigns (probably) and the Constitutional option debate comes up again, because the Dems will most likely filibuster President Bush's Supreme Court nominee.

57% of Americans in Rasmussen poll say that "Senate rules should be changed so that a vote must be taken on every person the President nominates to become a judge." That's unchanged from two weeks ago.

Sincerely,
