Yeah, I'll bet ol' Will Pitt is the kind of guy who'd hog the podium at a funeral for a minor acquaintance and speak longer than any of the deceased's family or close friends...
To: Welsh Rabbit
Strange. I was just over there and the date on the original thread has been changed to Jan 8! How did they do that!

I think DUmmie MaryH is an AUTHENTIC DUmmie while I have my suspicions that Doohickie is really a Freeper Troll who took a bunch of DUmmies along for a ride on his I Believe threads.I think I know who this could have been. ROTFLMAO.....

"Worry not about their wicked spells! They can't even figure out how to spellcheck. But somehow they always manage to get the profanities spelled correstly."
I sometimes visit DU for kicks, but I have a hard time finding any topics where somebody is not dropping the "F" bomb on a regular basis. I have no problem with cursing, but can't they even type without doing it?
To: PJ-Comix
just let me know if you want on the PING List. These are too good to miss!
Please add me.

Actually, a Google search is saying it was Hoover who promised two chickens in every pot and a car in every garage. It looks like I may need a refresher on Depression history. http://www.tqnyc.org/NYC040581/HH.htm

Maybe this Kephra guy is faking his own death as an elaborate way to break off all contact with DUmmy Land...
To: Roscoe Karns
Man, you are so right.
I just checked, and "William Pitt" is boosting "William Pitt" again, using this as an excuse.
These DUmmies are so credulous it is unbelievable.

After reading all three threads on Khephra (Scott Lowery), I see too many different people posting. I think this is truly real. I find myself suddenly feeling a sorry for their loss. I know how we feel here, when losing a long time poster.
If anyone from DU is reading here, I am sorry for your loss and my sympathies and prayers to Khephra's mother. 37 is way too young to go.

I agree. After reading through it all I am convinced it's for real.
My condolences to his mother and DUers who might be reading this.

"I thought FDR promised the chicken and a radio for every home, but I might be thinking of Huey Long."
No, I was stupid not to Google the phrase before I posted...
It was Hoover that said it...my mistake. :(

"I thought FDR promised the chicken and a radio for every home, but I might be thinking of Huey Long."
It was Hoover, IIRC, and I think it was "a chicken in every pot and a car in the garage." Or was it "two chickens in every pot and a car in the garage," or maybe it was "two chickens in every garage and a car in every pot." B-) I think the first one was correct but I had a tough day at work and it's hard to type with a soon to be 16 year old, 13 pound cat on my lap with a laptop. B-)

Uh, liberals don't have guns. If they shot a gun, I would be more worried for anyone in the surrounding area. The target would be safe.

"Was it not Roosevelt that promised the chicken in every pot?
I am almost sure it was a democrat. "
Actually, it was a Republican. Herbert Hoover.

Actually, what was even more entertaining were the threads that were posted in the Meeting Room forum by the astrologers doing natal charts for Bush, Kerry, etc., along with charts for protests, the inauguration, etc. etc. This group actually has its own forum over there now. Can't remember where it is. It's a sub-group of one of the new groups they created. Check it out some time. They have tarot card readers and God knows what else.
Not surprising that the astrologers were predicting a Kerry win. One of them said that she wasn't sure, but that she saw Kerry's "presence" at the inauguration, in addition to Bush's "presence", which she took to mean that Kerry would be the one who was sworn in.
Isn't there something in the book of Isaiah where God basically mocks astrologers, saying something to the effect of, "Let the astrologers come forth! They can't save you. They can't even save themselves!"
