Question
Note he thought in 1991 that Saddam with WMD was not a threat.
Sorry Jenny, that is the runner-up prize and all prizes are final.
So, he was invoking Vietnam in every speech,
even prior to his run for the presidency.
The other day, Senator Kerry walked up to the urinal next to me and said,
"You know, this reminds me of taking a leak in Vietnam..."
I don't know what he said, but the REASON was because a REPUBLICAN was president...the ONLY consistency with Kerry is that he is PRO-WAR if a democrat is president, and anti-war if the GOP holds the office.
You had to start a whole new thread to ask this? Why not ask it on a related thread?
"I said then it must be when the Nation as a whole has decided that there is a real threat and that the Nation as a whole has decided that we all must go."
Now there is a leader for you. I will wait for everyone else to agree before I commit.
Here is our "great leader" again, in his own words.
As the Iron Lady said...
Consensus is the absence of leadership.
The world will not soon see the like of Margaret Thatcher again.
He oppossed the rush to war. He thought that diplomacy would work. He said the nation didn't want a war. He said that he knew the horrors of war first hand and the nation wasn't ready for it...blah...blah...blah.
After the quick victory in Iraq Kerry said, "If the president had told me that there would be only 100 casualties and it would just take a week, I would have voted in favor of using military force." Real, conviction and nerves of steel there, eh? Just the sort of guy we need in the White House during a time of war.
Later when asked about his vote against Gulf War I by Cokie Robert he explained that he didn't vote against force but he "voting against the timing of it."
Sounds familiar, eh?
He missed out on the boat in 1991, then later tried to cover his arse. He wasn't going to screw up again, and miss out supporting an easy war again, so he voted for the authorization in Oct 2002. Now, that things turn out to be more difficult than the first Gulf War he goes into spin mode yet again trying to cover his arse and not taking responsibility for his vote. What conviction! What leadership! What a pompous jerk.
It's really quite frightening to see what a huge pussy Kerry really is.
"It's really quite frightening to see what a huge pussy Kerry really is."
Scares the beejayzus out of me. John Kerry would never have gone out onto that ball field and thrown out that first pitch after 9/11. He is, I believe, not just a moral coward, but a physical coward as well. So was Bill Clinton.
Kerry is an America-hater in disguise.
That was Kennedy's argument also. Nice guys. We had hundreds of thousands of troops in the theater and these guys wanted to keep them there for another six months -- right into the middle of summer! Oh joy, summer in Saudi Arabia! Nice way to support the troops!
Yes, and Bush should list what Iraq would be like today if Kerry had his way.
Saddam in Kuwait and possibly Saudi Arabia
Saddam with WMD and using it.
Kerry's Foregin policy is a failure before it starts.
Someone should create a graphic of a map of the Middle East if John Kerry had had his way in 1991. There would no longer be a Kuwait, and likely Iraq would have had further regional conflicts with its neighbors along the Persian Gulf such as Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Wow, I didn't even read your response before posting mine.
Great minds I guess...
Wrong place! Wrong Time!
