Caught on Video: Kerry Cheated by Using Notes Cards in Debate
Ehh, we still love ya!
Dear sinkspur,
Nah, if he had notes, he loses any positive impact the debates had for him, and some more besides.
Americans don't like cheaters. We'll overlook an incidental thing, like whether he should have brought his own pen, or used what was provided to him. But if he had notes, well folks will understand that's like bragging about the "A" you got on the test, when you brought the answers in with you when you took it.
I watched some of the debate. What I saw was that Mr. Bush's message just doesn't need half of 90 minutes to be put across. President Bush's message needs about a minute or two to explain. All else is dross. He just ran out of bs. Filling his half of 90 minutes with bs and hot air was no problem for Monsieur Kerry, and if he had notes, we can understand it all the better.
Thinking on your feet doesn't mean the ability to blather.

It DOES make a difference if he brought in notes. Of course, Bush was still very bad and nothing changes that but the world will know that Kerry cheated and that is much worse.
It looks like he grabs a pen (with his right hand) off of the podium, takes the cap off, sticks it on the other end of the pen (right hand moves across his body and removes with left hand), and starts to write on the paper.
Kerry pulls note cards out of his pockets and then looks down at them, then sets them on the podium.
In this case a "reverse" Sandy Burglar motion
Someone post a pic of J F'n "flip-flop fop" Kerry attempting to retrieve throw? a football from behind his butt.
Gives an idea of the "Kerry Kontortions"
Before last Thursday, Bush was rollin'. He had no vulnerabilities. None.
With his stumbling performance, he made Kerry look more presidential in comparison, something Kerry was simply not able to attain by himself in three months of serious campaigning.
None of us are going to change our votes over any of these debates. But Bush has now opened the door for those who are wavering or undecided. He must be better prepared on Friday, and go on the offensive. Answering Kerry all night made Kerry look like he was in control of the debate.
Perception is important. It may not be determinative by itself, but to say it doesn't matter how Bush looked is to ignore reality.
I ought to ask the mods to pull my erroneous observation to save any further confusion.
I guess J F'n "flip-flop fop" Kerry had a signed 180 ready and was going to come clean on his Vietnam lies on national TV....../sarcasm
Well...Drudge has it now- go look on www.drudgereport.com
Thinking on your feet DOES mean answering your opponent. He missed a great chance when Kerry started talking about 9/11. Bush should have gotten in his face: "Senator, you don't need to tell me about 9/11. I was there on 9/11. I responded to 9/11." Instead, Bush never mentioned 9/11, one of the major remembrances of the entire country.
Also, why didn't he come back to Kerry's suggestion of giving nuclear fuel to Iran with "Senator, Clinton gave nuclear fuel to North Korea. Look where they are. You want to make the same mistake with Iran?"
Bush speaks in simple declarative sentences, and could have nailed Kerry to the wall several times.
ITS THE MISSING RECORDS FREOM THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES

If you forward down to about 1:23:13 you'll see that he fold up a piece of paper that looks like it has been folded and wadded up several times.
Kerry might have used note cards and if so he should be called on it -
But you have got to be kidding me. Lerher did not ask one difficult question in the whole debate. To either candidate. If GW or Kerry did not expect the questions they got....then neither are that bright!! -
Having a grasp of the issues is not that hard. Both men should have this. I am certain GW does, he just performed bad on Thursday. Not in what he said, but in allowing Kerry to not have to answer for his awful 20 year record in the Senate on National Security issues.
That is why GW lost Thursday. Kerry did not have to defend his record.
I despise Kerry. Looking at him makes my skin crawl. But since he's such a sweaty pig, maybe he was pulling out a hankie in case he needed to mop his wrinkly brow.
pinging me
"...but it's also possible it's a pen that he used to write with..."
ALL illegal...you can easily hide notes inside a pen as well. They weren't allowed to bring anything with them. Anything they wanted at the podium (ie pen/pencil, paper) they had to turn over to the commission and the commission would then approve/deny. If approved, THEY placed it on the podium.
This guy is going down.
