look everyone here does not have to agree with everything everyone else says all the time. I did not write this article, I thought it might generate discussion.

Your posts might be different from mine.

I believe that the interim government in Iraq is not doing a very efficient job at the moment. You might disagree.

I believe that Africa is a total mess but could be fixed one day. At least I hope so, because that is where my family comes from.

I believe that Bush is the best man for America, and for the world at the election.

We probably both agree on that one. We may reach that conclusion by different routes, but that gives you no right to berate me, or question my integrity, because of your misguided preconceptions about me.

A Reaganite argues that Bush is a dangerous, profligate, moralizing radical -- and that his reelection would be catastrophic both for the right and for America.

“Reaganite” is less than fully honest, as I'd expect under the circumstances.

Doug Bandow -- Libertarian

“He served as special assistant to President Ronald Reagan in the early 1980's, left disillusioned, and later wrote how that administration had betrayed its promise of less government and lower taxes.”

Someone who drops these little piles of propaganda all over the place. But he's been here longer than the 2nd person who recommended a Zot for this thread, so he's superior. He hasn't been here as long as the 1st person who recommended a Zot, so he hasn't commented on that. You know, length of membership counts more than quality of usage.

Apparently the person who posted this doesn't think it merits a barf alert. He/she has been here longer than I, so he/she must surely know what a barf alert is.

Note the source; it is Salon.com No other "media" source is less reliable than Salon.com except that CBS is giving it a run for its money just now.

What is the difference between CBS and Salon.com? Even less Americans know that Salon still exists.

you are a nasty, spiteful little person who clearly got out of bed the wrong side. Come over to Baghdad and say these things if you have the stomach for it.

so i gather. As a non-american I don't know these things. Was looking on there for the first time after I met someone who worked for it. Didn't talk politics to him though...

What I have always found interesting is that these types always want to say, "See, this is why conservatives should NOT vote for Bush," as opposed to, "See, this is why liberals SHOULD vote for Bush."

Kerry, with more war experience than the current president and vice president combined,

By this argument, Conservatives should have voted for McGovern over Nixon. After all Vietnam was going on. Pfft, Bandow has joined Reese and Patrick J. on the traitors list.

Bandow is a libertarian who subscribes to the "gridlock" theory of restraining government. I have three problems with this:

1) Kerry doesn't believe the war on terror exists, let alone that we should fight it
2) it presupposes that Congress will remain GOP
3) federal judges get selected by the President. Kerry is the most anti-libertarian (in terms of economic rights) Presidential candidate EVER

See tagline. It sums it up. If that's not enough, Kerry is a left-wing POS who would be better off running against Chirac in France than for the office POTUS.

I do not think that you deserved nasty treatment from some on this thread. We are close to election day, and some people are a bit too quick on the "Zot" button.

Bandow raises some legitimate concerns, but I think they pale next to the potential downsides of a Kerry presidency.
