Dear Free Republic Friends,
My old friend and brother-in-arms BADJOE has promised to warm the cockles of our hearts by publishing an expose (the truth about JimRob and Free Republic according to Joe) on the 18th of this month, which represents the one year anniversary of the date he last posted to FreeRepublic.com and started up with LibertyPost.org.
So, as I believe that only the truth can set you free, and based upon the stratergery of pre-emptive strike, I have a confession to make (before BADJOE makes it public):
I have poisoned the well.
By my sly innuendos behind the scenes.
By my intellectual ineptitude.
By not trusting those that brung me to the dance to bring me home.
By my biting every hand that fed me.
By my arrogance that causes me to think I did it all by myself.
By my stubborness not because of principle, but because of my lack of ability to see what is transpiring.
Evidenced by:
One would think that with half again as many Freepers. with a recovering economy, It would take a great deal less time to raise the necessary funds.
By this time in the June 2002 effort with a goal of $70,000 we had raised $73,000. Not because of who did the fundraising, but because the sense of purpose, of family, of comaraderie, was still present.
BADJOE rang the warning bell, but none heard.
Conclusion:
It is a sad day.
For what was once a great hope, a means of bringing together those who are willing to pay dearly in blood, sweat, and money to save this country, we all love, has been reduced to an asterisk.
So sayeth BADJOE as he promises to publish all this and much more on the 18th. He's been feverishly working on this "project" for one full year. In addition to the "truth about JimRob" BADJOE intends to further betray our trust placed in him by revealing the names of our moderators. And who knows what else?
I can hardly wait.
Is it the 18th yet? Tick, tock.
Anarchism and tinfoil don't belong here and Jim has repeatedly said so; nothing at all new in his positions re that.
I was banned once and warned by Jim once or twice.
I admit, I have been involved in some brutal, roll in the mud, punchfest with a few here. Some of the exchanges got graphic and ugly. And I honestly felt I was being labeled, attacked and accused of things (by a few individuals) that were not true.
Jim had a very frank talk with me and I told him if he believed what a *few* others claimed or alleged, to go ahead and pull my ticket and I would go my own way with no hard feelings. He apparently made up his own mind. And I am still here....So far.
So I can say first hand, that he was fair to me personally.
Actually, the way things were going for a while, I am a little surprised I'm still here.
I see this as a good sign....LOL!
Or maybe they just swung the axe and just missed.....Hehehe..

Okay, give it up. I've got the Classic Wedge™, the cheese cowboy hat, the cheese baseball cap, the cheese earrings, and the cheeze drink cozy...but I have never heard of the bloody ones! Where do you get those?
Well shoot... if it's confession time I might as well confess too.

Just wanted to add my comments.
My experience matches Dales. I was asked to volunteer as a Mod by the LM many moons ago, and I did.
As for the rest of this, at one time BadJoe said he was against two of the Mods and the rest of us were "decent".
He then asked all of us decent Mods to quit. He asked us to get in touch with him. He also threatened to out us. To my knowledge none of us ever got in touch with him. None of us felt we had anything to talk to him about. None of us felt he was justified in his attacks on the two Mods in question.
I just have one question.
If BJ considered us "decent" but still tried to coerce us into quitting, what does that make him?
Well said, and I agree.
Which is why I would make a great admin mod. I mean, imagine how many problem posts and suc could be dealt with, without the need for banning, if an admin moderator posted a reply to a personal attack by saying "Knock it off, ya big doodie head" ;0)
LOL, then it's usually HIMSELF.
