[history]
Dear Free Republic Friends,
My old friend and brother-in-arms BADJOE has promised to warm the cockles of our hearts by publishing an expose (the truth about JimRob and Free Republic according to Joe) on the 18th of this month, which represents the one year anniversary of the date he last posted to FreeRepublic.com and started up with LibertyPost.org.
So, as I believe that only the truth can set you free, and based upon the stratergery of pre-emptive strike, I have a confession to make (before BADJOE makes it public):
I have poisoned the well.
By my sly innuendos behind the scenes.
By my intellectual ineptitude.
By not trusting those that brung me to the dance to bring me home.
By my biting every hand that fed me.
By my arrogance that causes me to think I did it all by myself.
By my stubborness not because of principle, but because of my lack of ability to see what is transpiring.
Evidenced by:
One would think that with half again as many Freepers. with a recovering economy, It would take a great deal less time to raise the necessary funds.
By this time in the June 2002 effort with a goal of $70,000 we had raised $73,000. Not because of who did the fundraising, but because the sense of purpose, of family, of comaraderie, was still present.
BADJOE rang the warning bell, but none heard.
Conclusion:
It is a sad day.
For what was once a great hope, a means of bringing together those who are willing to pay dearly in blood, sweat, and money to save this country, we all love, has been reduced to an asterisk.
So sayeth BADJOE as he promises to publish all this and much more on the 18th. He's been feverishly working on this "project" for one full year. In addition to the "truth about JimRob" BADJOE intends to further betray our trust placed in him by revealing the names of our moderators. And who knows what else?
I can hardly wait.
Is it the 18th yet? Tick, tock.

I have to smile. If Liberty Post is gleefully betting on you not meeting your target, they must not know that you roll the monthlies in after the half-way point. :)
The simplicity is stunning.

Jim
Just a note of thanks from someone outside the US for all the work you do to run this site.
I visit every day for news and discussion that I couldn't get anywhere else. Glad I discovered it, and long may FR continue!

I have to wonder - the fish used in the Cherokee creation story - was it lutefisk?

It's more likely to be a strange bolt of lightening that zaps you up from the bottom of your chair. Funny how it traveled through your modem connection and up your chair leg like that. 120,000 volts of potent ZOT! power.

Jim - I want to be the first to congratulate you on this overwhelming creation you invented of about 1500 posts, thus far. Why you chose to perform this madness is not only disrespectful to one of the finest posters upon this board (or anywhere) but also signifies a milestone about the presence of FreeRepublic.com. I am ashamed of you. Permitting the bashing of BADJOE is an obvious abandonment of FR policy for objectivity and reflects a new admission towards the degradation about the web site.Best Regards! You call my posting the truth an insult. Well, first of all it was not an attack on any poster and as far as I know FreeRepublic is about getting to the truth of things. I said:
That is the kind of arrogance and uninformed nonsense that evolutionists have been spewing and has been completely refuted by science. Only evos would be so stupid and/or dishonest to claim that 95% of DNA is junk just there so they could prove their stupid theory. Evolution has done more harm to science and consequently killed numerous people with their dishonest arrogance. Yup, I use a lot of adjectives in the above, but the whole thing is perfectly true, that is why instead of discussing the truth of it you and your character assassinating friends just insult me and dishonestly make me out to have started a food fight. No, I posted the truth and you could not refute it in an honest manner so your recourse is to attack, insult and slime.
The rest of your post is the same thing, I posted the truth, don't like it? Act like a decent human being then, engage in honest discussion then, refute the facts instead of attacking the messenger.

If you had read the entire thread you would have seen the Jim defended BadJoe more than once.
The point was not to bash BadJoe - it was to defend against an action by BadJoe.

Thank you very much, my dearly departed friend. I shall hold your opinions close to my heart along with the fading memories of the great times we shared together as drinking buds in an earlier life and shall treasure them always (that is, if they don't fade away too fast).

**Your claiming of those Deists as Protestants proves my point that Protestantism doesn't really care what a man believes, and certainly not if he believes in Christ or not, so long as it is not Catholicism. **
Thank you for the opportunity to post this. Note only one Catholic..
Denominational Affiliations of the Framers of the Constitution
Dr. Miles Bradford of the University of Dallas did a study on the denominational classifications that the delegates to the Constitutional Convention accepted for themselves. Contrary to myth, the following list, published by Bradford, indicates that only 3 out of 55 of the framers classified themselves as Deists.
Note: only those Denominations whose Confessions of Faith were expressly Calvinistic at this time have been identified as "Calvinist" denominations. While many "Old-School" Lutherans and "Whitfield" Methodists at this time would have identified themselves with a Calvinistic view of Predestination, their affiliation has for the sake of charity been assumed to be non-Calvinist.

The definition of an anti christ is pretty much someone who uses the power of the state to force their beliefs ... specious - esoteric - sectarian --- upon others !
Pretty much atheist - statist totalitarians ... power mongerers --- controllers - social engineers (( aclu - evo whacks )) !

Bwahahaha.... I don't know if I've ever told you this, but when I went to sign up, I was planning on using your exact screenname. That's interesting!
After several denied attempts at signing up using different variations incorporating #3, I decided to come up with another screen name.
Oh, sorry. :^) I had a serious screenname on another chat room and everyone always took me too seriously, so I wanted something a little more lighthearted and something that wouldn't get politically obsolete. Have to watch out for that since liberal doesn't mean now what it used to, for an example. (It's hard not to still be serious on a politcal discussion site though, as a lot of people can see) Plus I wanted to show that I was a Nascar fan in case there are others that are interested in Nascar.
Right at that moment, fox was replaying a President Bush speech and I swore I heard him say "We must remain viligant", which inspired me come up with viligantcitizen.
Did he actually mispronounce it? lol
Now I've never claimed to be a genius, but I've always considered myself to be good at spelling, and the thought of looking it up in the dictionary never crossed my mind, until three weeks later when a poster brought up the typo.
Anytime I have to use the word "vigilant", I thought of your name to get it right. Now that you've fixed it, I won't be able to remember it now. lol
After dictionary.com confirmed my error, and a short period of "How could I be so stupid?" contemplation, I decided to leave the error be as a reminder to myself to always verify and proofread.
If Bush actually said it that way, it could be thought as an honor to his Bushisms. :^)
