Dear Free Republic Friends,
My old friend and brother-in-arms BADJOE has promised to warm the cockles of our hearts by publishing an expose (the truth about JimRob and Free Republic according to Joe) on the 18th of this month, which represents the one year anniversary of the date he last posted to FreeRepublic.com and started up with LibertyPost.org.
So, as I believe that only the truth can set you free, and based upon the stratergery of pre-emptive strike, I have a confession to make (before BADJOE makes it public):
I have poisoned the well.
By my sly innuendos behind the scenes.
By my intellectual ineptitude.
By not trusting those that brung me to the dance to bring me home.
By my biting every hand that fed me.
By my arrogance that causes me to think I did it all by myself.
By my stubborness not because of principle, but because of my lack of ability to see what is transpiring.
Evidenced by:
One would think that with half again as many Freepers. with a recovering economy, It would take a great deal less time to raise the necessary funds.
By this time in the June 2002 effort with a goal of $70,000 we had raised $73,000. Not because of who did the fundraising, but because the sense of purpose, of family, of comaraderie, was still present.
BADJOE rang the warning bell, but none heard.
Conclusion:
It is a sad day.
For what was once a great hope, a means of bringing together those who are willing to pay dearly in blood, sweat, and money to save this country, we all love, has been reduced to an asterisk.
So sayeth BADJOE as he promises to publish all this and much more on the 18th. He's been feverishly working on this "project" for one full year. In addition to the "truth about JimRob" BADJOE intends to further betray our trust placed in him by revealing the names of our moderators. And who knows what else?
I can hardly wait.
Is it the 18th yet? Tick, tock.
Not really --- the Gospel --- new age (( evolution )) !
Now I'm being accused (along with strela) by some stranger of hitting the abuse button over remarks people have made to me. I could be forgetting something (I don't think I am), but I don't believe I've done that even once.
Funny women over there. : )
See, if I could just convince you to do that and you got banned, their suspicions would be confirmed. LOL
"Come on, Cathryn. Post it. It'll be okay...I promise." : ) (Actually, I saw it, and it was great. I was cheering.)
Short read. Leaves about 23.9 hours in a day. Where do you find this in the "Fantasy" section?
I don't know. I'm heading over to another site right now though, to tease you about it ;0)
Ha....
Sure.... And there wouldn't be crime if there weren't any cops causing all the conflict.
I tend to browse news and chat about the news mostly with friends... I am a quite hobbit-type mostly, I tend to avoid getting in the middle of big fights but sometimes I will bring popcorn and watch the carnival with fascination. The thing I most appreciate about FR is that even the flame wars are held to a standard of "NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts.
The last thing I want to see is crude and vulgar language in posts and headlines as seen at DU and LP. Or their trolling posts when they venture out here.
Yeah - moderating is subjective.... People are subjective. Whether someone is ~worthy~ of the forum or should be banned is subjective... And whether an article or a post is just a hair over the line or worth keeping is not one of those decisions that everyone will agree on. Judgments will be made that will always rankle those who like to live at the edges. I imagine even heaven will be that way, and some here will claim that the rules were not clearly stated or enforced fairly when they get there.
I love this place. And will continue to support it with $$$ that I hope cover the costs of my being here (don't laugh!) with a little left over for our host. As much space as I have taken up here, I am not sure I can ever donate enough. Wish me luck on the lotto!
When I was a newbie on FR, I misread the button as the "self-abuse" button. (cymbal crash)
I wanted the 5-minute argument but I couldn't find a button that did that.
He never even quotes me anymore. ;-(
Wildly overexaggerating the actual events is not likely to help your case.
