I can point out a logical fallacy. Once in a while, confronted with implausible obtuseness, a little sarcasm can escape my keyboard. However, I'm happier composing the answer to some outlandish creationist technical claim than I am arguing about who is closer to being just like Hitler/Stalin/Satan. That kind of thing is so obviously off-topic on a thread about a science article I'm amazed that some posters go there like filings to a magnet.
What DittoJed2 seeks to make the world safe for, and what A-G has described from a perspective more familiar to most witnesses, was an organized thread trolling. As already mentioned, PatrickHenry once characterized it in terms of a motorcycle gang crashing a picnic. There aren't too many science threads left on FR from early June; they kept getting pulled. Don't try to tell me the picnickers suddenly started doing something different, although I suppose they did sort of draw the picnic baskets in a circle once it was obvious what was going on.
