"TOM McSELFISH = Gov. BustaMENCHA"
9/14/2003 | ALOHA RONNIE Guyer

Posted on 09/14/2003 10:05:38 PM PDT by ALOHA RONNIE

NEVER FORGET

.."TOM McSELFISH =

...Gov. BustaMENCHA"

........was THE Sign to behold at this weekend's California Republican Convention held in Playa Del Rey next to the Los Angeles International Airport. So I did.

...No Convention Endorsement came for California Governor, but a posted Convention Straw Poll showed ARNOLD with nearly ..80%.. of the votes verses a little over ..18%.. for TOM McCLINTOCK.

...No one backed down this weekend, though it was hoped one Candidate for California Governor would, with Recall Election Financier Congressman ISSA watching it all unfold right before his very eyes.

Signed:.."ALOHA RONNIE" Guyer / Republican Convention Witness

NEVER FORGET

Buffet works for Schwartzenegger, remember?

His wife is a Kennedy, remember?

You have nothing of value in your posts. Should I report you as a disrupter?

I'm glad I've place myself on your dead-wrong list. Be advised. The genie has left the bottle. Your *% is neutralized, negated and going down the tubes. Slither back from whence you came.

Still nothing of value, meaning, or veracity.

Who do you think you are?

Who do I think I am? A California voter who is very proud of a fine American, Arnold Schwarzenegger. I will be proud of him as my gubinator. I can't wait until he gets in and starts bringing reason back.

I made the mistake of thinking you read the thread. Read post #339, and then try an intelligent response. When I am insulted, I insult back ( and I'm good at that too). However, if you just want to trade insults, I'm fresh out of time for that sort of exchange today. So, unless you can come up with some good reasoned rebuttal to my post, don't bother addressing me again as you will enounter only silence.

Yes if you feel like, report me as well.

That would only be fair.

So, other than the fact that Arnold is a Republican, which is a verifiable fact, was there another verifiable reason for which anyone should vote for him?

I mean, if you're a liberal, there is that reason, of course. I'm looking for verifiable reasons a conservative would vote that way.

68grunt is no different than most ignorant dumbed-down Americans - they respond to sound bites and, like 68grunt, all they can do is parrott meaningless slogans - Vote tolerance - Vote Schwarz., Pro-Choice is Pro-Woman, compassionate conservatism (what a laugh). hehe.

Right on Texas Eagle. There is no difference between Davis Bustamonte and Arnold. Pro baby killing, Pro homosexual, Pro Gungrabbers. I wonder how many dollars would be saved if someone came out against illegal immigrants getting free medical, education and jail from California. If Arnold wins there will me a dam bursting movement to rid the Republican Party of its stand on moral matters. Yes, matters of right and wrong. These matters take a tough man or woman to stand and defend them, not some steriod sucker who doesn't know anything except repeating lines from his movies. Arnold gets elected and we will have everyone saying they will take 6 months after elected to ask an " independent commision to figure out what is wrong". Humm seem to me anyone can appoint a commission. Vote for who you want to win, bet on who you think will win. Don't confuse the two.

I actually think he (or she) really is a Democratic Underground plant.

Even the most naiive and new Freeper usually has better points and a finer grasp on logic. They also tend to exercise and value veracity even if they aren't exactly sure what the word means.

This guy has nothing.

It seems to me that the use of memory alone is sufficient to separate a McClintock supporter and a Schwartzenegger supporter.

What's your opinion?

If the Schwarzenegger campaign wants our votes, they need to make their candidate more appealing, starting with his positions.

The ball is in Schwarzenegger's court. Let's see how he handles it.

I am no Californian, but I understand a rational argument, and you have just made one. Apparently some folk would rather increase Scwarzenegger's immediate chances, regardless of the long run cost in destroying any hope of a return to basic principles. Obviously, Scwarzenegger has to demonstrate a reason for men of principle to support him; just claiming a chance to win, is not such a reason.

It is really an amazing thing, how sanctimonious the advocates of expediency can be, in denouncing men of principle.

Cheers.

Your post is well written and well thought out instead of the usual "baby-killer" epithets thrown at Arnold supporters.

Huhh?? oh... thanks... it is hard and I am ratcheting back a few notches here ;-) Now those other guys and gals are not really bad people and Arnold-haters, I think, so much as upset at a long string of similar betrayals by state party leaders. I don't seem to be able to influence either side here to cool the rhetoric and actually engage in rational debate... the situation is truly out of almost any one person's control... I sincerely hope Tom and Arnold can work out a deal and tag-team an attack on Bustamante and Boxer (the real political enemies). Both seem to have their strong points, and together they would (gasp!) complement each other and lay waste their opponents. Just IMHO.

We aren't naive to California politics, my husband having grown up there and lived there till he was 30. I came of age there and voted in my first election there. Our daughter plans on attending Cal Poly, so we definitely have an interest in how the state is run.

All of our fates are connected in some way, I would absolutely agree. BTW we checked out SLO for our kid this past summer, as well as several other campuses. SLO was extremely impressive over almost all the alternatives we saw. As you may be aware, the entry standards are high and certain programs are "impacted". Things are tough all around in the state... good luck to your kid.

I just hate to see Republicans divide themselves purely over a single issue, however, and that is truly what the division boils down to. Arnold may be opportunistic, but he's the only one that has a prayer of defeating Bustamante/Davis.

A lot of Arnold supporters are saying that, and the controversy won't diminish, it seems. Taking the optimistic view (for a change), at least Arnold does not seem like the AntiChrist or something, the type apt to sell his soul for a few votes or $$$ like Davis or Busta. That's a weak point in his favor.

The far right prevented our having a Republican governor in Hawaii 5 years ago when the Democrats ran a rumor that Lingle was gay just before the election. Fortunately she hung in there until the next election, and we now have more balance at the state level.

Interesting, my only (and uninformed) impression of Hawaii is that it would seem to be the type of place where liberals might hang out and infest state elected offices. (Regardless of the military base presence there, it would seem.) Glad to hear they made some progress and things are not as dire as one would ordinarily expect. The pendulum swings...

Trust me, it is much better to have a Republican, no matter their views on abortion, than a state run by Democrats at all levels. We're actually seeing progress being made in rooting out the corruption here. Would that California would realize the same thing.

Good input, and thanks. We truly need heaven's help since we certainly don't seem to be able to help ourselves too well here at the moment ;-) Thanks for taking the time to reply in a calm manner...

I wonder if a lot of this stuff would have been avoided simply by having some kind of primary arranged by party leaders early on to permit everyone the luxury of not having to attack each other with the verbal tomahawks. I don't know why it was not done at the time, perhaps it was not practical for some situational reason. Anyway, water over the bridge... back to the verbal slug-fest... sigh... ;-)

You are so wrong in your post, but I don't have the time right now to address THE MULTITUDES OF FALLACIES in it. Thank GOD President Bush doesn't think like you do or people you believe in do!! In fact, GOD FORBID!!

God allows man to make mistakes!! How LUDICROUS to think otherwise. It would be a tragic mistake to continue with the FAILED policies that CLinton was making with regard to TERRORISTS that brought us to 9-11.

I have so much information I could provide you with. Do you EVEN read ANY material regarding 9-11?

How I wish I had more time this evening.

It would be SO EASY to debate you. I could do it with ONE hand tied behind my back. I would say TWO, but I need at least ONE to type with!!

MORE LATER!!!

But I will leave you with this!!

WHAT A SANCTIMONIOUS TWIT!!!!!!
