On Wednesday, Trump made fun of the French president and his wife at a private lunch as he lambasted NATO allies for not joining the war against Iran. The US president imitated a French accent and said that Macron’s wife “treats him extremely badly” and that Macron was still “recovering from the right to the jaw”.
On a visit to Seoul, Macron, who was accompanied by his wife Brigitte, said Trump’s comments were “neither elegant nor up to standard”.
“So I am not going to respond to them — they do not merit a response,” Macron told reporters. …

Macron as far as in public, has always gone out of his way to treat Trump and Melania extremely well. He pulled out all the stops during state visits - with the most lavish of displays: parades, dinner at the Eiffel Tower. Even during Trump’s first term when in the UK (while Queen was still alive) Princess Catherine & Prince William refused proximity to him. (That was during the first term.)
But the most moving gesture of all was the entrance and seat of honor President Macron arranged for Trump at the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral...Trump hadn’t even been re-inaugurated yet.

The real Macron was/is the guy who tried to tell Trump not to move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem, back in 2017.
Then call Macron out on that, on NATO , Hormuz...NO need to publicly shame about marriage...

trump is insulting all kinds of world leaders in a way rarely seen. it is likely what he really thinks, but the normal neurological inhibition mechanism isn’t working right.
