Jade Damarell, who lived in Caerphilly, died after crashing onto a farm following a skydive earlier this year
An experienced skydiver deliberately fell to her death from 15,500ft the day after her relationship ended, an inquest heard. Marketing manager Jade Damarell, died after crashing onto farmland in the village of Shotton Colliery, Co Durham, on April 27.
Ms Damarell, who was born in Hong Kong and lived in Caerphilly, was an experienced skydiver who had accomplished more than 500 jumps.
There was "no reason to suspect" her equipment was not working on the day she died, the inquest was told. A report by British SkyDiving said she had successfully carried out six skydives on the day before the tragedy.
Not any more.
Turns out it's easy. Get the context menu for the image, select "Share..." and have it open in another browser, then select/copy the address bar URL. D-uh.
I went to Airborne School for 5 static jumps. I don’t understand how anyone loves to do it in the military or civilian. Free Fall is always rolling the dice.
Age only 32. What a waste!
Regards,
Working up her courage to take the fatal plunge.
Regards,
“Show me how they know she purposely did this.”
Well, if(?) she had a reserve and didn’t try to deploy it, that might be significant.
not correct
Well its not like she would have had any problem finding a new boyfriend.
The real tell is if her AAD (automatic activation device, which deploys the reserve if the jumper is unable to pull) was turned on. If it wasnât it was either deliberate or she had a major brain malfunction. If it was turned on and didnât fire itâs definitely an equipment failure.
On the day of hear death Ms Damarell did not deploy her main parachute or the reserve and switched off an automatic activation device which usually acts as a back-up system before she crashed on to farmland, suffering “multiple injuries.”
Ms Damarell left instructions on the lock screen of her phone on how to access the handset and left notes and details of her finances in its notes folder.
She also left a note to her family at 2.30am, “apologising and thanking them for their support”.
Its in the article...
I don't know if there was a note, but it was believed at the time that she checked herself out of this life after her boyfriend broke up with her.
She didnât deploy either chute.
She disabled the automatic deployment device.
She left instructions on her phone Lock Screen for how to access it.
She left an apology to her family.
I donât think this was the odds catching up with her.
She didnât deploy either chute.
She disabled the automatic deployment device
She left instructions on her phone Lock Screen for how to access it.
And she left a note apologizing to her family.
100% intentional.
Bury her in the leaning rest.
No one is worth that.
I think an autopsy would reveal that the fall did not kill her, but the sudden stop did.
Very sad, she was beautiful!
I’ve lost a couple of friends to suicide.

A falling object reaches terminal velocity. She hit the ground at about 120 MPH. That doesn’t liquefy.
Iâd lean toward guessing suicide here. 32 and Chad dumps her, maybe for a 22 yr old. But for whatever reason , she put off getting serious about life to an age where she has far less control and possibilities. She âhit the wallâ as the internet puts it. The days prior jumps may be likened to the tentative cuts wrist slitters make before getting up the courage to do it. Could be coincidence. Jumping was her high and it maybe made her feel better, then something went wrong on the last one. Didnât see anything about main chute failure/ backup failure.
