Paternity Fraud Is 'Like a Pandora's Box' and 'One of Society's Last Taboo Subjects'
MIRROR (U.K.) ^ | 08 Apr 2025 | Rob Currell

Campaigners say the true rate of paternity fraud - the intentional misidentification of a child's biological father - remains unknown

Men are being left heartbroken after investing time, resources, love and energy into raising children they believed were theirs - only to find out it was all a lie.

This breach of trust not only impacts the men who were falsely led to believe they were fathers but also deeply hurts the children involved and others connected to the situation.

Paternity fraud refers to the deliberate misidentification of a child's biological father. One of the most shocking aspects of this issue is that no one seems to have a clear understanding of its true extent.

How many men are unknowingly playing the role of father - oblivious that their lives could be shattered at any moment? The brutal reality leaves victims questioning their identities and feeling crushed - often wondering how they ended up in such a situation.

Statistics on the percentage of men affected by paternity fraud in the UK vary dramatically according to different studies. Figures vary, with a 2018 study from the University of Warwick estimating 3% and a 2021 study from the University of Oxford suggesting 1%.

Conversely, in one striking study by DNA Clinics, a subsidiary of the BioClinics Group in Salford, looking at 5,000 results randomly selected from January 2014 to June 2016, found that a staggering 48% of the men tested were not the biological father.

She sent text messages to her pals while planning it.
Naturally her now jealous (over how much money she is getting) ex pals produced the texts on X.
I am amazed how many women attacked Ashley on X when this came out.
Women can be nasty.

About Musk, he has repeatedly made it clear he wants to help reverse the decline in fertility in America and elsewhere.
No secret about that.
He just has to vet the girls a lot more before he knocks them up.

Are you claiming that Musk is developmentally disabled and doesn’t know how babies or made, or the fact that if you are wealthy, and you impregnate someone, you will have to pay money? His history suggests otherwise. You actually believe that he is the “R-word?”

I think before any man is forced to pay child support a paternity test should be done. It could be a single mother or a divorcing couple.

I’ve seen all kinds of tragic situations

Over 25 years ago there was a gal who blew off a date with me. Oh well.

The following February 14 she suddenly popped down at my table despite us barely speaking for months and months.

A friend (RIP) of mine and I looked at each other with great surprise. I didn’t buy the act.

By mid-July she was heavy with child (not mine, we never went out).

I suspect she was already pregnant when she sat down. 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♂️🤷🤷‍♂️

Anyone can order a Paternity DNA testing kit off the internet for around $100.

Yes, some are just unable to believe that women can be totally dishonest and irresponsible. They need to get out more.

It may be possible that men are involved and also hold responsibility.

No, men hold no responsibility for when a woman lies about them being the father. They bear responsibility if they actually get a woman pregnancy, but zero percent if she chooses to lie about it.

Nope.
Musk did want to have another baby.
He just thought Ashley was conservative as did I.
Replied to her posts lots of times before this came up.
Again, big money just changes people, even family.

When I tell women that for men this the ultimate nightmare and I consider it to be worse than rape they act shocked.

Think about it. Rape is horrible and a brutal crime...akin to torture but this is not only a complete betrayal by your spouse but you lose a child you thought was yours too? Your entire family is blown apart. That’s just utterly devastating. I can’t even imagine....

I don’t think this was as prevalent in the past. When people worked at home on a farm for example or when the wife worked in a home industry (like weaving, spinning, sewing, brewing, etc) there were nowhere near as many opportunities for people to meet and cheat.

A paternity test for men to be listed as the father seems totally appropriate as do laws that expressly forbid any man who is not the father and who has not adopted a kid from being held responsible for that kid. Its not his. It would be like telling a woman she was required to marry her rapist.

Part of the problem is if a couple is married and the wife is screwing around and gets pregnant by her lover, court deems that child as a product of the “marriage” and “dad” is on the hook for supporting a kid that’s not theirs....effed up totally

There needs to be huge lawsuits regarding this issue… And I am a chick

The WORST victim is the child, who has NO idea what is happening.

But, you cannot blame the innocent guy that is caught in this trap either (happened to me).

I have no idea whether she is conservative or not. But whatever the case, Musk is not stupid. If he was making an acquisition, he wouldn't do it with due diligence, so he doesn't do it for this.

Also, I am not sure Elon Musk is conservative, but I doubt he cared whether Ashley was or was not. Because I don't think he has ever married/dated/had children with a conservative woman in his entire life. The mother of his two previous children was not conservative, or claimed to be. His wives weren't. He pursued Amber Heard for five years, and then dated her.

Are we sure Elon Musk has met a singe conservative in his entire life?
