We've been pressured into pretending everyone is beautiful, except for those who actually are
Are Sydney Sweeney’s breasts double-D harbingers of the death of woke?
This is what the public is asking, at least those on social media, after the Euphoria actress garnered a particularly large audience as host of Saturday Night Live (SNL) last week. Sweeney is obviously a conventionally attractive young woman; and if you don’t personally admire her beauty, we can certainly all agree that she’s got a voluminous appeal. Sweeney knows this and runs with it, playfully owning her sex appeal with zero apologies. On SNL, she bulged from her tops, self-deprecatingly suggested that her breasts are her backup career, and — now virally — donned a Hooters uniform for a rather unsophisticated sketch dedicated to her overflowing cups.
Exactly how this led to a cultural cataclysm over beauty and wokeness can be summarized as follows: We’ve spent years being chastised for desiring or admiring beauty — because beauty is rare and exclusionary, and to exclude is to hate — or so we’ve been scolded to accept by today’s diversity, equity, and inclusion fanatics. We aren’t supposed to admire Sweeney’s beauty; but we’ve done it anyways. The times, they are a-changin’. Aren’t they?
Recall the words of unrepentant thought criminal Jordan Peterson on the plus-sized model that graced the cover of Sports Illustrated two years back: “Sorry. Not beautiful. And no amount of authoritarian tolerance is going to change that.” To this day the man is partly facing censure from his professional regulator over these words. We’ve all been pressured into pretending that we are bad people if we aren’t attracted to every influencer-wannabe who is unattractive by any reasonable standard of beauty.

I’m with you. I watch all of the old movies and I enjoy them. The only downside is that I keep falling in love with women who died more than 50 years ago! ;-)
Frankly, not my type.
Though I understand she is conventionally beautiful.
I think Sweeney went under the knife and had some work done. It's a little subtle but you can notice it.
I'll prefer Tom Cruise's plastic surgeon. He looks good. And natural. Even though it's clear that he had work done. Others, you can usually tell. And most of the time, they look "fake". Some of them end up looking like the Joker, as you said.
And she walks like a model. Notice in the picture how her left foot crosses in front of her right foot? For some reason actresses and models are purposely taught to walk like that. I find it very annoying.
I watched some of these babes walk and their feet cross over so far into the other’s path you’d swear they were gonna trip themselves and fall over.
It does nothing to amplify their beauty or grace. It’s another one of those Hollywoodisms that are dumb.
Also I am mostly bald these days, about 20lb overweight, suffer from a variety of illnesses, etc. And I wear glasses. All of which rather spoil my former good looks, of which I am reliably informed were something of a cross between Antonio Banderas and Robin Williams. I don’t see why the Robin Williams bit was a compliment, but there you go.
She’s not my type, but each to his own. I do try to be a gentleman and stay away from the ratings game regarding young actresses. As far as looks are concerned, they are who they are. I downgrade the ones who go in for plastic surgery — which is a lot of them — and respect the ones who are secure enough to be themselves and age gracefully.
I am also partial to the ones whose looks are a little “off,” with something that makes them distinctive. There are too many “algorithm girls” in the film industry — because there are too many witless producers and casting directors chasing a generic look, as opposed to prioritizing talent. That’s a story for another day.
A bit “off,” of course, does not mean the same thing in Hollywood that it does elsewhere. Almost all of these young ladies are 7.5 or higher on the standard scale. Laz should probably stay away from Hollywood; he’d be too intimidated to hit on any of them.
Sydney Sweeney is pretty enough and she has big boobs, which appeals to those with that fetish. But that’s not why she’s “hot” right now in showbiz. She broke out of the pack because she was willing to get naked and get fondled onscreen while she was still playing teenager roles. Her breakout show was Euphoria, which was pure trash (or so I gather; I watched half of the first episode to see what all the fuss was about, but turned it off because it was trash).
Of the current under-30 crowd, SS probably has been far and away the nakedest. That has always sold tickets and attracted viewers, so she’s in with producers who want to work porn alley. I am not a fan.
Is that Princess Grace? Beautiful. Stunning. Classic.
The Sydney in the article is a pretty Girl Next Door with cleavage (which she shoves in your face). Clay Travis was slobbering over her on Rush’s show this week, mentioning her “boobs” over and over.
Rush had way more class than that.
That is the one and only.
Sweeney knows what gets her attention.
I’d take Kelly 100 out of 100 times.
Just curious, you think the woman in that pic is beautiful?
To me it screams girl next door on her best night.......
Before all this hub bub, I watched a few shows in which Sweeney appeared. She was a stand out for her acting. She has an expressive face like Christina Applegate. I wasn’t even aware of her big boobs.
Princess Grace Kelly ranks at the top of the 10 most beautiful women since modern photography (before filters were invented).
‘I thought the same of Audrey Hepburn, who definitely was NOT “well endowed”’
Audrey Hepburn proved that you don’t have to be a “shapely” woman to have a lot of sex appeal. Part of it was the face. There was also the hair, the charm, the voice, the accent. She oozed class... even when playing Holly Golightly.
Definitely … NEVER guilty
THAT'S gonna leave a mark.
zElensky told him that he's got purty lips...
Conventionally so.
But still not one I would chase down.
I have different preferences.
What is plastic surgery?
Meg Ryan, Catherine Bell, Madonna are just a few names that come to mind. Gates McFadden did too. She was beautiful during ST-TNG, but during the Picard series you can tell she didn’t look the same. Shame too, I’ll admit I had a mild crush on her.
Dang it, olastic surgery. Blasted autocorrect.
This is my future wife.
I can feel it.
