Whats most fascinating about the controversy raging about Rep. Joaquin Castros tweeting out the names of donors to President Trumps campaign is that Castros Republican detractors seem to be admitting to a dirty little secret.
By complaining that hes exposing those donors to public shaming, theyre effectively acknowledging that donating to Trump is shameful. Whoops.
To bring you up to date, Castro, the twin brother of Julian Castro, a candidate for the Democratic nomination for president , on Tuesday tweeted a list of the 44 donors in his hometown of San Antonio who have made the maximum donations to the Trump campaign this year.
Although Castro didnt publicize the donors addresses or phone numbers, he did identify some connected to local businesses evidently of some prominence. His point was that their contributions are fueling a campaign of hate that labels Hispanic immigrants as invaders.

Ask Mikael what was so wrong about “Red Channels” printing the names of those in Hollywood who had joined and affiliated with Communist groups?
Persons who worked with the KGB either directly or as red dupes working inside Soviet front groups (unknowingly).

If someone did take a potshot at one of these guys I suspect Castro would need to go into hiding to avoid the retribution.
"According to todays New York Times, this isnt the first time Hiltzik has made himself look foolish via the wonders of technology. In 1993, when he was a correspondent for the Los Angeles Times in Moscow, he was caught hacking into colleagues email messages, and he was recalled from the bureau."
The Colombia Journalism Review also wrote that:
Late last week, we found that we could add Los Angeles Times columnist and blogger Michael Hiltzik to the long list of journalists who thought that they could make up their own rules as they went along.""In a screw-up more embarrassing than criminal, it was revealed that Hiltzik had posted comments on his Golden State blog on the Times Web site and on other blogs with which he had long-standing feuds, using phony names he assigned himself to hide his identity."
Coming from a guy who hacks into other people's personal emails, and sets up fake accounts to harass other people on line, Hiltzik's opinion on whether or not doxxing political contributors is appropriate isn't worth much.
Because they aren’t “shaming” donors, they’re pointing their dangerous crazy comrades at them.
time to dox the author Michael Hiltzik
i just mentioned we should dox him...does anyone have his address/phone number??
No bias in this story.
I am waiting for LA to fall into the ocean as patiently as I can.
We've seen what your anti-fascists (ANTIFA) like to do. This has nothing to do with shame for supporting DJT.
One of this guy’s mistakes was not caring to see if they donated to him and the DNC in equal amounts. Some did. A lot of them will never donate to Democrats again.
Second mistake - he named one guy on the list who isn’t a Republican donor. His father is. But the family is getting death threats and threatening phone calls. These people can and should sue the Dem.
Third mistake - he left off Hispanic donors from the list. That’s racist intimidation, since you’re ensuring that white donors are threatened by liberal bullies but Hispanic conservatives aren’t.
Its the donor addresses and contact numbers released, not just names on public record. Trolling for trouble is way too obvious, Hooligan O. Castro.
Correct. Only ridicule works against them.
Zabasearch says he lives in Seal Beach, about 30 miles southeast of Downtown L A.

How about we post a list of people stupid enough to advertise in the LAT? How about Trump’s campaign manager suggesting no one should do business with them?
Democrats are going to have to make the biggest ‘shame them’ list after the 2020 election. That list will have to include the 70-80 million people who ‘contributed’ their votes to Trump.
Gonna tweet him that ...as he shows us the reason we need trump....
Wonder what would happen if a group of angry conservatives were to put up a billboard accusing this guy of child molestation, human trafficking, drug trafficking — and not only that but that the ones who put up the billboard have very credible evidence to indicate that the above charges are true.
What’s wrong with that? The same things that’s wrong with getting rid of secret ballots. People should be encouraged to vote (and contribute) based on their conscience, not on peer pressure.
They’re inevitably cutting their own throats.
