Did you ever think that perhaps conservative enough by Sarah Palins standards might be too far right for the rest of us Republicans and independents?
Most of us are not wealthy and are neither racist nor homophobic. We are not all evangelical Christians. We are merely commonsense people, most of whom have faith in God, but respect people who do not share our faith (we pray for them rather than judge them); we believe strongly in fiscal restraint, less government intrusion in our lives, a fair taxation system and an agenda that is not only without discrimination but also includes all people regardless of their race, religion, sexual preference or economic status.
We RINOS, as we have been labeled by the far-right commentators, are the Republican Party, too.
If the eventual nominee of the GOP is not conservative enough for Sarah Palin or the Tea Party to endorse, then perhaps it is they who are not listening.
Uh, depends on what "ninja" means...
Unfortunately, he’s a pathetically typical Illinois Republican. We’ve been playing footsy with left so long we are them. As a party, that is. Kind of a large scale version of the Stockholm Syndrome.
But isn’t that the ninja aura glowing over your head? I know ninja have auras cuz I’ve seen ‘em on the cartoon network...
Thanks,

“...not wealthy and are neither racist nor homophobic.”
“...we believe strongly in fiscal restraint, less government intrusion in our lives, a fair taxation system and an agenda that is not only without discrimination but also includes all people regardless of their race, religion, sexual preference or economic status.”
Based on that description of what the author’s kind of Republicans are, they should fit in nicely with Sarah’s Republicans and the Tea Party. We are neither racist nor homophobic, though some of us don’t shy away from calling homosexuality a sin. We may mock the homosexual agenda and those pushing it, but certainly no more than they mock our culture.
We don’t discriminate between people, unless they are liberals. People of all races are welcome, as are people from all religions. (We do ask that Muslims don’t blow people up, and follow our justice system over sharia). Again, we don’t care about people’s sexual preferences, so long as they don’t seek to get in our face with it, or change customs that have been in place for thousands of years. Rich and poor, come one come all. This poor soul has some ignorant perceptions of Sarah’s conservatives. But never mind, he probably never considered voting for anyone but Obama, and maybe Oromney.
When you live in a fantasy world on the Unicorn Farm, there is no star to steer you ship by and no virtue to set your course.
I don't think I'd say most, but a fairly large number of them do. These are the McCain voters of 2008 and the Romney voters of today.
My wife's family is full of them.
Freepers who spend all their time in the 'bubble' run the risk of being the conservative equivalent of Pauline Kael. . . . "I just don't see how McCain could have won the nomination. Nobody I know voted for him!!!"
>>...If most Rep voters really feel this way; our country is in deep trouble....<<
Bad news — Who do you think gives Romney all those votes and the giant gobs of campaign cash?
For sure, we’ve got our work cut out for us.
Good points and worth considering. I really hope we are not that much of a minority. We have a lot of work to do.
There are a lot of this type of “Republican” in the Chicago area, which is why we got Mark Kirk for a Senator. Many of these liberals, in this area, though, never actually were Democrats. They are “cultural” Republicans, voting that way because their parents and everyone in their suburban social circle votes that way, just like some people are “cultural” Catholics but not practicing.
Well, the Illinois Republican Party knows it has two choices: pander to collar county RINOs and be willing to compromise on anything and everything, or permanently lose control over every aspect of state government. For politicians, knowing what their priorities are, that isn’t a choice at all.
Tell them that if they do not get their heads out of their arses, there will be no culture left!
