My experience with Bill Saletan is that he is willing to respond personally to cogent and non-infammatory e-mails that disagree with him. He may approach issues from the left but at least his civil, poliye and (unlike most) reasonable.
Its amazing to me that the entire media industry in America manages to walk into Beck’s traps, again and again and again.
Its even more amazing that they continue to think of themselves as the smartest people in America.
That has certainly not been true of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
I've got my own story and am a citizen of the United States of America. I don't need anyone to "legitimate" my claims to the public sphere (define the term , control the argument). This elitist prick should shut the hell up.
Thats an EASY one. Just listen to the Media culture today. Not necessarily the news media, but the entertainment media that tends to drive culture so much. Nothing but disdain for Christians and conservatives in general. If you are average Joe out there with average American values (ie, mostly Conservative), and you look out there at what passes for entertainment these days, you WILL have a feeling that your views are not just looked down upon, but openly mocked. THAT is how these people feel. And it ain't just a White thing. I am not a "white" person that they describe here, but I feel the same way that these folks do.

Didn’t read the whole thing, but from what I did read it seems the Left is completely preoccupied with race. Crowd of blacks: victims marching for justice. Crowd of whites: Pit of hatred. Racists. Frankly I’ve had enough. Calling me racist means nothing anymore. Frankly I just don’t care.

Like all hardcord libs, Feder does not understand conservatism in the slightest. They simply can’t get past the race thing . They think this, conservatism, is some sort of a racial movement. And Ross Douthat is a smug, sanctimonious pseudo-conservative. I do think Beck is going down the wrong road with the religion angle. Much better to stick to the constitution and leave the preaching to the guys in the churches and synagogues. He’s taking the risk of coming off as some sort of a political Jimmy Swaggart.
