I know you didn’t give the answer. Just wondering if you care to make a statement on your divergent viewpoints.

It's clear to me that you will accept nothing less than abject submission. If I'm proven wrong I accept that, but most of what we deal in is opinion, and in that there is seldom an absolute right or wrong, but rather a difference of opinion, and an airing of views. I can live with that. Apparently you cannot.

I can live with agreeing to disagree. I don't think much of doing it in overboard hyperbole and buckets of perjoratives and epithets.

Shame on you for excerpting the Pope to make it seem like he is anti-evolution!

SHAME on you!

Here is what he says on evolution!

They are presented as alternatives that exclude each other,” the pope said. “This clash is an absurdity because on one hand there is much scientific proof in favor of evolution, which appears as a reality that we must see and which enriches our understanding of life and being as such.”

"The question was whether your 'Christian' movement defined Catholics as non-Christians."

You prove with this line of thinking that Christianity is completely alien to you. The denominations do not define who is a Christian. The individuals do. The Lord said that the entire church is loaded with tares. We cannot accurately discern who is wheat, and who is tare.

You lose; give up.

A long philosophical answer but not responding to my point. Where do you disagree with the following that you posted?

““With savages, the weak in body or mind are soon eliminated; and those that survive commonly exhibit a vigorous state of health. We civilized men, on the other hand, do our utmost to check the process of elimination; we build asylums for the imbecile, the maimed, and the sick; we institute poor-laws; and our medical men exert their utmost skill to save the life of every one up to the last moment. ..” .”

“The denominations do not define who is a Christian. The individuals do.”

Sounds like a cult. I think the Branch Davidians had a similar philosophy.

At least editor agrees that being Catholic does not exclude you from also being a Christian.

Shame on you for using the pope's ignorance of biology to drive a wedge between believers!

The pope is simply not up on the facts, and doesn't realize that true science has demolished evolution completely. This is not a Biblical doctrine issue here; its the confusion that the propaganda industry has created.

. . . metmom and others could end this issue by saying they believe Catholics are Christians.

What issue? It appears to be a manufactured off-topic issue. You’ve been offered the opportunity to argue the issue in a thread where it is the topic. You’ve declined. In other words, your bluff has been called and you’ve folded. You can’t get any takers because they understand your efforts stem from a heart filled with malice.

I haven't folded. I recognize the agony that y'all are undergoing. I just heard today that Obama was down in Mexico talking about those that would dare question his healthcare program and calling them demigods. Basically, they don't want anyone to question them and they keep ignoring the questions and demonizing the questioners. Do you need a mirror?

What?! Did I call you a butt monkey or something? If I've treated you that abusively, hit the abuse button. If not, quit whining.

Aw ... Here we have an article posted by the writer that compares Darwin to Hitler and Obama and company and you are upset because we ask a few innocent questions.

“One at a time... An answer to what? What I think Catholics believe? That’s easy... I gave you a chance to re-word it but your pride won’t let you so, here goes. I don’t know. I’m not Catholic.” (my reply to Buck)

“Again (after many reminders about twisting the question) I must inform you that you are once again restating the question incorrectly. The question is “Do you believe Catholics can be Christians. It is not about what you believe that Catholics beleive, it is about whether you believe that Catholics can be Christians.” (CW’s reply to me)

So, what’s a boy to think?

From your answer (and if the threads are closely followed) unless you are corn-fused yerself CW, I would have to infer that you may be Buck, and Buck might be you... and with that (seeing as the lines are properly blurred), I bid you, adieu!

Good night everybody!

"Sounds like a cult. I think the Branch Davidians had a similar philosophy."

Jesus Christ is the one that gave us that view. - The Davidians may have had some quirky ideas on prophecy, but they were mostly devout Christians, that were murdered by General Wesley Clark, and Janet Reno. Clark also murdered many other helpless, inocent Christians in the war in the Balkans.

“...that true science has demolished evolution completely.”

Would that be the same science that gave us hydroplaning continents, a vapor canopy, fountains of the deep, vegetatian velociraptors (before the fall, of course), and unicorns?

That would be a guess or an opionion. There is nothing in the posts to infer that we are the same person. But, if you are posting as several people at the same time, you might have thoughts that maybe others are doing it also.

Shame on you

No doubt your present spectacle of 'defending' Catholicism is a sincere exercise in Catholic apologetics, motivated by selfless sentiments of solidarity. However, in another thread, you asked me to prove that Christ was born of a virgin.

Here is what he says on evolution

So, according to you, he didn't say those other things?

THIS IS INCREDIBLE!

You can affirm the Christianity of Branch Davidians as a denomination, but not Roman Catholics!

I believe the earlier “heart full of malice” comment from a different poster was misdirected.
