PHOENIX — The mother of a 17-month-old boy found dead after he was left unattended inside a hot car for at least seven hours in a north Phoenix Hooters restaurant was arrested on one felony count of negligent homicide.
Police say the woman, Ashly Duchene, 22, left her son in her car when she arrived at the north Phoenix Hooters restaurant where she works at about 10 a.m. Tuesday. When she returned to the car after her shift at nearly 5 p.m., her son was dead.
Efforts to revive the boy by witnesses, officers and firefighters were unsuccessful. Police Sgt. Joel Tranter said temperatures hit nearly 90 degrees Tuesday, but that it would have been more than 100 degrees inside the car.
FOX 10 Phoenix reports the baby's mother had planned to drop the child off at childcare before heading to work at a restaurant near Bell Road and Interstate 17.
Instead, authorities say the mother went to work with the child still inside the car.

The baby was in a car seat in the backseat of a Honda Civic, which had very dark tinted windows. Officials believe that made him unnoticable to people going in and out of the restaurant and a car wash next door, the Republic reported.
It's unknown if the mother will face any charges in the child's death. Tranter said situations like this are handled "on a case-by-case basis."
So far, there have been no arrests.

Umm, NMH is attacking the intelligence and integrity of ANY woman who has ever worked there and, apparently, any customer. That goes well beyond this specific case, and NMH is WRONG,

Well that's interesting. The principal who left her child in the car to die had complaints made against her and was warned. No arrest for her.

I know what nmh said and I’m not endorsing what nmh said, but still yet, nmh is not wrong to pass judgment on what nmh apparently views as the exploitation of young women. Would it bother you if we were talking about strippers instead of Hooter chics? And if it did, what’s your problem with strippers and the people that patronize them?
When I was raising mine at least one was up in the front seat. When they started making folks put these babies in the backseat this is when we started hearing all of these stories of the little ones being left in the car.

Yet again the law of unintended consequences. They could be in the front seat except for those blasted air bags that jack up the price of each car and do no good if the adult wears his seat-belt.

You had 5 names on that post and I didn’t understand the context of your remarks? I was responding to one of the first few posts in thread after I read the article. I have no issue with slynx. I do, however, have issue with the neglect and abuse of children as described in my comments. Don’t twist my words.

This is funny. LOL The most obvious difference between the girls who strip and the guys that watch them is the girls are getting paid and the guys are paying them. Talk about a major indicator of intellect. ROTFLOL
The other big difference is the women can put clothes on but the guys will be idiots their entire lives.

I too have grandchildren & in your post you didn't know about slynx's daughter or are you now trying to make it look like that? The comments being made to her are uncalled for. Since you say you have a problem with grandparents looking the other way or whatever it was you said well it sure seemed directed at her.
I have a big problem with child abuse in any form just as you do. However I do not & will not look down on any mother who is working at Hooters while her child is in the hospital or even if its not. Its a job. Plain & simple.

Yes and indeed it is the anonymity of the Internet. Can you imagine directly insulting a man and his daughter to his face in such a way? nmh would be all beat up all the time. But face to face such posters are Mort Meeks. But put them at a keyboard and common decency goes out the window.
Red herring. We’re talking about Hooters waitresses, not strippers. Every waiter or waitress worth his or her salt uses personality or whatever to gain tips.
