Yeah, I guess a Tranfiguration teacher who is an animagus has to be pretty good.

I almost thought they were trying to quote Duran Duran.. but it wasn’t quite it.

I always loved her dry sense of humor.

I’m about to hit the treadmill and walk until I get to the end of the book.

That is a WONDERFUL idea! I've been trying to think of ways to get myself on the treadmill! I'll do it on the reread - assuming my daughter gives me the book back! Maybe I'll start with book 1 and read through... People will ask me how I got so thin and I will tell them it was all because of Harry Potter!

The last few pages of the story after Voldemort was killed seemed very rushed to me. Basically, Harry kills Voldemort and goes upstairs with Hermoine and Ron, they chat a bit, and then it's over. It's like JK Rowling ran out of steam.

If she'd spent another ten chapters tidying everything up, Return of the King style, the book would have been too heavy to lift without a winch!

Gilderoy Lockhart!!! ROTFLMAO!!

For a bit I thought that he was the grinning blond wizard that stole the Elder wand.

LOL! I had a wonderful week of running when I had “Prisoner of Azkaban” on tape. I’d go six or seven miles at a time, as long as I could get one of my kids to flip the tapes for me.

Once I walked for two hours while reading Ann Coulter’s “Godless.”

It took me a mile and a half to finish DH; I was almost done. Now I’ve hidden it from the children *evil laugh*.

And then the movie version would have stuck us with 20 minutes of Ron and Harry staring deep into each other's eyes. Ug.

I think it was an addiction, once Harry started finding out the truth about his parents he was pretty seriously addicted to more familial information. Even as much as he didn’t like Snape it was just too tempting.

Yes, he did, but I was commenting on why he didn’t learn it from Sanpe in book 5.

True. Then again, part of the blame still rests with Harry. Impatience and rash action was Harry's big weakness -- Snape correctly noted that he "lacked subtlety," and Harry got all peeved when occlumency didn't come to him immediately. He finally had to learn it for himself, by feel. Snape's own nastiness certainly didn't help matters, but Harry was partly to blame for it. For example, he never told anybody in a position to do something about it, about the way Snape was behaving. He simply gave up.

That was a frustration of mine throughout the book. It could have been renamed “Harry Potter and the Teenage Angst”. :)

And don’t forget he was sulking because Dumbledore was ignoring him.
