I thought the last sentence was an interesting end to the series. Harry hadn't felt his scar hurting for the past 19 years. And so, with the "full circle" aspects of the story well-established, on year 20....

Just as the dark wizard Grindelwald was defeated, and Voldemort was defeated, 20 years from now there will be another dark wizard to defeat.

In any of the other books, this kind of lull would be filled by everyday life at Hogwarts, but in this book, they seemed to just hang around in one forest after another, being cold and hungry and grumpy.

Real wars are like that. Except when you are hanging around in deserts or jungles being hot and hungry and grumpy

I was seriously struck by this when they cam to the riddle at the door of Ravenclaw's common room -- "What came first, the phoenix or the flame?" And the answer: "a circle has no beginning or end."

Every book is a circle. They all began and ended at the Dursleys, except the last which was a circle encompassing the entire series.

As in life, the journey is more important than the destination.

Obviously, Harry thought Snape died a hero, he named his son Albus Severus after all. Everytime I read the name Severus I thought “severe”. Oh, well, maybe the sequel to the series will tell us more. LOL

Except as DD said, Harry was really more like Lily when it counted.

I assume that Victoire was Bill and Fleur's daughter. Teddy would have been 19 so I assume she was in her final year at Hogwarts in order for him to be snogging her without upsetting Ginny or Hermione.

It fits, because they also talk about if he marries her, then he'll be a cousin, so Victoire is part of the Weasley clan, and the name is something that Fleur would pick

Dumbledore crumbled in the end in Harry’s eyes.....his hero was NOT a saint. Then Dumbledore showed Harry how HE, Harry, was the saint, the pure one.

Voldemort couldn't read Snape, because he couldn't get past Snape's love of Lily. Everything about Snape's behavior can be explained by referring back to his love for her.

Police Lieutenant: Well, Denham, the airplanes got him. Carl Denham: Oh no, it wasn't the airplanes. It was beauty killed the beast.

I don’t think so. He was against Harry in private, as well.

He didn’t REALLY try to teach him Occlumency, and he was constantly putting him down to Dumbledore, too.

Yeah. It was creepy enough as a visual. The fact that it could not be comforted, well...

Bummer about Fred, but I figured he was toast when he lost the ear.

George lost the ear.

The name always made me think of the Roman emperor Severus. The Slytherin mindset of the actual Severus is there to see...

man made school rules were made to be broken.......BUT, HP never used dark magic knowingly. He didn’t even use the killing AK curse, LV did and it backfired on him, which is how he died.

His loyalty to Voldemort was acting when he called her a 'Mudblood.'

I thought that he had always had a dislike for someone who wasn't born with magical powers. You can see it when he's talking to Lily about Petunia.

I think the constance of vehemence of it was mostly cover.

He had Lilly's eyes. Every time Snape looked at him he was reminded of his betrayal and loss.

I was trying to say that Snape was blinded by superficialities, and never realized how much like Lily Harry was.
