Am I the Only One who is sick and tired of "I'd Hit It"?
VANITY | TODAY | SELF

Posted on 04/20/2007 11:50:28 AM PDT by CharlesWayneCT

I've never posted a straight Vanity before.

But I am sick and tired of this good conservative, generally religious site being overrun by people posting "I'd hit it", whenever a picture of a good-looking girl is displayed.

It's demeaning, it's immoral, and I guess I'm just a prude but announcing to the world that you'd like to have sex with a woman based on her picture, like she was some object, hardly seems like the appropriate attitude on a conservative political site.

But rather than post in response to any particular person, I figured I'd just vent here where everybody could see and make fun of me.

So go ahead. I thank you for whatever indulgence you have given me in this rant.

Back to your regularly scheduled oggling and hitting.

LOL! With Frank gaining weight so fast, I just have to embrace my inner fat girl and keep eating, or I’ll drop over in a dead faint.

Hang in there. It will heal.

It will. Over 50 hours now, so I'm past the worst. Having to use some saline solution to keep things moist in this heatwave we're having.

How are you? Talked with someone from AZ yesterday and she told me about the monsoon season. Definitely unpleasant.

"That IS interesting!"

Indeed.

However, if what I suspect is happening, is happening, then it isn't "cold fusion".

It may not be fusion of any sort, although I wouldn't rule out the possibility.

I'm tempted to call it induced light element fission of carbon made somehow unstable.

This was something I was thinking about recently anyway. I was considering the proton / boron reaction, and let me digress long enough to explain what that is:

The proton is a hydrogen atom stripped of its electron. When it collides ( and yes it takes some doing to make it collide) with a boron eleven nucleus (80% of boron is boron eleven), the resulting "massé" particle, quite temporarily made into a carbon atom, then splits apart into three helium ions, (alpha particles), traveling very energetically.
So basically my musing was in the form of "what would it take to get ordinary carbon to act like this energized and unstable carbon, and to spontaneously split apart into three stable helium nuclei?"

I'm sure all of you spend your quiet moments considering similar things. Maybe that's what they put into Harry's magic wand, you know; a little decaborane, some palladium salt, give it a shake and *poof!*, Olivander's shop is in chaos!

Anyway, that's what I was thinking.

That's why I suggested adding the ten boron molecular analog of the hydrocarbon molecule decane, which is called decaborane. (Carbon chemistry -- after methane, ethane, propane ... then it continues on with the prefix changing to represent the number of carbon atoms e.g. hexane, heptane, octane, nonane, decane.)

Yah, well, I still think dumping dead trees in subduction zones is probably a better way to sequester carbon for some millions of years.

Fine. You tell the ladies they aren't going to get their annual tonnage of diamonds.

You got a faster (energy-efficient) method? Mine is completely natural, for all it's a wee bit front-loaded. ("Diamonds! Exactly as Nature made them!") But hang around long enough and reap the rewards from the ladies, right?

I am likely off for the night.

"I am likely off for the night."

Gives me time to come up with a plausible story.

Gives me time to come up with a plausible story. Plausible is just a state of mind. People believe what they want to believe. So all you need for many is a green plan.

Making diamonds out of excessive carbon dioxide with spent uranium rods from nuclear power plans will work. Super heating the spent uranium rods in centrifuges power by wind turbines and heated by solar ovens located on the tropic of cancer during the summer solstice on 20 March at 11:44, on the equator during the Equinox on 21 June at 05:45 and again to the equator on 21 Dec at 17:47 leaving 22 sept 21:18 on the Tropic of Capricorn during 2009

This why many diamonds are found in Africa.

Since

Therefore

In conclusion

Some people just cheat.

An alpha particle track is a bit different than an ionized
ATOM track. Neutrino detection means something “else” is going on.

James and Pat have gymnastics this morning (and Wednesday and Thursday). I had to talk James out of being scared.

Good morning! Byos are dropped at gymnastics class, until 12:30. I’ll have to make sure there’s lunch ready for them when they get home.

I told Sally she could go to lunch and the park with a neighbor and kids (against my better judgment, because the neighbor is a flake), but when I said she had to be back by 1:00 p.m. they said that wouldn’t work. Now Sally’s in a snit. Oh, well - I’m not comfortable with her being gone indefinitely with people who won’t even wear a seat belt.

When it comes to your kids, always trust your heart. If you’re the slightest bit uncomfortable, don’t do it.

I’ve got a book called, “The Gift of Fear,” and although I wouldn’t call the naggy feeling exactly that, I still listen to it.
