People are telling me (maybe it’s a joke) that the reason Sanjaya is holding on is that he has everyone in India voting for him. I don’t know how the voting works, is it true that only U.S. calls are accepted?

I think it is. You know, if AI wants to have a telethon, why not switch to a 900 number, make a little money that gets donated to a couple of worthy causes and then no more telethons are necessary. That way it really could be Idol giving back, instead of Idol reaching into our pockets.

I think this commentary says a lot about the album. One thing to consider is that the Idols get to sing some really great songs during the show but then have to go out and sing their own tunes or stuff written for them. The quality of songwriting just doesn’t compare.

My son and I have renamed the stuff Meth-altine. Those kids sound unnaturally hopped up.

I wonder what’s really in it...

Yep, he’s this year’s Nikki McKibbin. The anti-Idol.

My 5 yo son’s voice is deeper than Sangaya’s. No kidding.

That and Vote For the Worst which is now backed by Stern has a large group voting for him hundreds of times per person per night. I also think he he gets some of the tween vote, and a poster mentioned in another thread there are certain places like his school where everyone is voting for him. Personally, I find the hairstyles and performances (while sometimes off key) entertaining, but I’m not voting for him.

Was a little surprised to see Gina go. I figured she’d last a week or two longer. Bottom three this week will be the three to go anyway though. Phil has the capability of pulling off a great performance, but I don’t really expect him to. Haley’s working it about as well as she can(and I’m not talking about her singing), so she may outlast Phil.

that was a tough song to watch her sing since she seemed to WANT to be the IDOL more than the others ....I'm sure she'll get her career going, she has the drive....

sanjaya is a train wreck, he's gonna last till the end I think.

Tony has the flu, eh?

yea, that seemed like BS ....what are the odds he gets the "flu"???

The guy who was singing (replacement) seemed "off" to me and I Kept thinking the judges were gonna tell him "too pitchy...etc"""

He made some comments after he was voted off about one of the male contestants being arrogant & thinking he had already won. Apparently one of them thinks they have it in the bag.

Sanjaya) His audition was excellent

But that was because he sang without instruments. He can sing without instruments but once the band gets going, he gets off key because he doesn’t have the power to hit the notes over the band.

LOL. I hear you. My shih tzu’s voice is deeper. The sound coming out of Suckjaya’s mouth is creepy. Like a bad Michael Jackson impersonator.

Okay, did Buble just get back from getting a filling or something??? It sounds like part of his mouth is numb.

If a contestant sang as badly as Buble did, we'd be looking to send them packing...

Morning, EG :)

Something else that made Sanjaya's audition sound reasonably good--he auditioned with his sister, who has even less singing talent than her brother--lol :)

Exactly!

The judges would have trashed him. "Didn't work for me, dog."
