Do you ever pay attention to the body language between the contestants. Have you noticed the other guys shying away from Chris R? I'm gonna start paying attention now. I'm so curious.

Though, I'm sure they all try not to be obvious at showtime.

BTW, I'm really sorry to hear about the tragedy in Sundance's family. He absolutely should not have been booted off the show. I don't normally get emotional about what happens on the show, but the longer Sanjaya stays on, the angrier I'm going to be. The AI powers that be have gone all squishy PC on us this year, and their racial/ethnic/gender quota system has graduated from a mild curiosity to a full-blown irritant. Sanjaya should NEVER have made it to Hollywood, let alone this deep into the competiton.

Yeah...other than that, he's great. Snicker. :)

You know I think Chris Sligh is uncomfortable because he is struggling inside with his fundamental Christian roots. He was raised conservative fundamental Christian and knows that he has put himself on the stage and is probably wondering if he has done the right thing. I wonder how his parents feel? There has to be a lot of emotion going on behind that mop of a head of hair.

I think you're right about Chris R.

For some reason the judges keep pimping him up big time. His voice is very nasal, kind of like Lois on Family Guy and his pitch isn't very good.

His upbeat tunes could "cover up" the tone problems but he was WAY OFF key during his Keith Urban ballad this week and not even Randy "It was a little pitchy for me..." mentioned it.

He also appears to have a real cocky attitude.

Haley....errr...Kathy Lee seems a bit that way too. I've worked with girls like that in bands and they're a hoot. They think their poo doesn't stink and everyone just flaunts over them. That may work in her local wedding band, but not against real talent.

Chris Sligh is very very very arrogant. You could read it in all his MySpace blogs. So that is who I think Head meant.

Blake is a little smug because he is self-confident. But that's OK. He's a good entertainer.

RE: Phikl and his health. That boy needs to get a good cardio checkup. The dark circles under the eyes are a tipoff.

I meant PHIL, of course. I wonder if he has the stamina to do a long tour. Wonder what his job is with the Navy.

OTOH, the dark circles could be from staying up at night with the baby. Is his whole family in LA for these last weeks of competition?

Right now...incredible PR value, morale booster, and recruiting enhancement. I'm sure the other branches will benefit as well.

WTH are you talking about? What's unChristian about what he's doing?

Give us examples, so we can at least assess your opinion. I think Chris tries to be over confident in his attempt at humor. ie...The Il Divo, Teletubbies remark to Simon, makes my point perfectly clear. I'm not sure how arrogant he may be, but it would not surprise me to learn it might be Chris S Sundance is referring too.

Although, they way Sundance cried like a pussy two weeks ago, any confidence anyone shows might make that waterworks, crybaby shaky.

Most of us wouldn't call it unChristian, but his mom and dad might, being extreme fundamentalists. After all, Chris is up there on stage (Heavens forbid!) dancing...sort of. And staying in a hotel that has a bar. And being in close proximity to loose women (Paula and Antonella.)

I'm sorry I can't recall too many specifics from his MySpace. I got the impression that he's maybe not so much arrogant in tone as insecure and complaining, but anyway, he has problems dealing with who he is and where he's going...not unlike millions of other 20-somethings. It seems on MySpace he talked about lots of jobs that he quit because he didn't like the boss. He even quit a church music ministry because they brought in a new music director. Lots of personality conflicts in this young man's life.

Being raised "apart", (and abroad--in Germany--where at age 16 his "best friend" was a 28 year old soldier who had been "saved" by Chris's dad's ministry) in the strict fundamentalist tradition, it seems he does not have the people skills that "heathen" kids might have. He might as well be Amish, or something.

In his blog, he came across to me as being very whiny. And strangely undisciplined. He said in his blog two years ago that his main goal was to lose weight. Instead, he has gained weight.

There is definitely a conflict with where he is now and where family expected him to be. To make things worse, he has an older, favored brother who is following the dad in ministry.

I guess you would call it a huge chip on Chris's shoulder. IOW, this guy is hard to get along with. How would that translate, touring the country with 9 free spirits?

Enough of my psychologizing for tonight.

Chris Sligh has a good voice and I wish him luck. (But wait...fundamentalists don't believe in luck.) So then, I wish him good karma. (Something Sanjaya has.)

No, it definitely has to be Chris R. He has some kind of connection to the music industry, although I don't remember what. But the impression I have is that he thinks he's got an advantage.

I'm inclined to agree with you that it's probably Chris R.

I know what you mean. And yes, it sad about Sundance's cousin. Not a good week for Sundance. I can thoroughly understand why he's upset, losing out to stinkgaya, who shouldn't even be there. The judges deserve this mess.

As much as I hate to say, my guess would be Sligh....He's already admitted he has a game plan. He studied Taylor.

I didn't think about him, but I didn't know he had connections, If he was so hot, why didn't he use them?

stinkgaya

LOL!

You're right, they are the creators of this mess. I hope it's a slow agonizing cleanup. That's what they get for choosing style over substance.

I bet all the little girls thought his crying was "sweet". On a website somewhere in cyberspace they're probably gushing about it.
