WASHINGTON — Accusing politicians of "pounding their chests" on immigration for short-term political gain, Florida Gov. Jeb Bush said Tuesday that the tone of the debate had been "hurtful" to him and his Mexican-born wife, Columba.

Bush, the younger brother of President Bush, reserved some of his sharpest criticism for conservatives in his own Republican Party, calling it "just plain wrong" to charge illegal immigrants with a felony, as a provision passed by the Republican-led House would do. He also opposed "penalizing the children of illegal immigrants" by denying them U.S. citizenship, an idea backed by some conservatives but not included in the legislation.

"My wife came here legally, but it hurts her just as it hurts me when people give the perception that all immigrants are bad," the Florida governor wrote in an e-mail exchange with The Times.

McCain FRAMED the legislation and railroaded it through.

Bush was only stupid enough to believe the Supreme Fools woould decide the obvious - provisions were uncosntitutional.

McCain is also on record as opposing the Second Amendment and plans further attacks on the First Amendment with his internet legislation.

Bush is an incompetent - McCain is a traitor.

I do own a business. I don't care if adults view pornography or if gays do whatever gays do. I am not an open borders guy, and have stated several times that I do not want illegal aliens in this country. I am an atheist.

Other than that, you know relatively nothing about me, except that I strongly object to President Bush being called a traitor, and I've explained why.

If we need more immigrants, raise the quotas across the board to allow a broad spectrum of nationalities in here who are eager and willing to become Americans, raise their families here, become assimilated and adopt our country and our culture.

If we need to raise the immigration quots, it should be across the board. Let people from ALL ethnicities in. It will expedite assimilation.

Targeting only one nationality, i.e. Mexicans, makes sense only if you are looking at creating a new country - the United States of North and Central America.

NOTE: I believe the Clintons, Hitlery and Slick-Sinkmaster, are in league with the anti-Christ.

AND, I believe that it appears the top of our Party (I'm still registered Republican, why I'm not sure anymore) has no problem doing it's part to bring a viable 3rd Party candidate into the ring, much like '92, which could end up electing Hitlery in a plurality.

At that point, all bets are off as to what will or should happen next.
