SAFETY HARBOR, Florida (AP) -- Terri Schiavo's former husband has married his longtime girlfriend, friends and family members say.
Michael Schiavo and his longtime girlfriend, Jodi Centonze, were wed Saturday at a church in Florida. The bride's brother says it was a very emotional ceremony.
Schiavo's former wife, Terri, had suffered severe brain damage more than a decade ago and died last March after her feeding tube was removed.
Michael Schiavo had argued his wife was in a vegetative state, and would not want to be kept alive artificially.
...snip.....
The newlyweds first met in a dentist's office and began a relationship after Terri Schiavo was already in a nursing home. They have two young children.

When I made the statement that "we have obviously been sleeping for the last 50 years", it was in reference to the bulk of the American population not seeing the erosion of their rights. My parents certainly were not asleep. My folks would have loved participating on this website.
Socialism is a sneaky, slow acting cancer. Not only are our civil and constitutional rights being shot down daily, now we have to worry about our very right to breathe.
I see statements like that frequently on this forum. They bother me because I know people who have been attempting to fight this cancer for years and whose warnings fell on deaf ears. Even many of us as children could predict that the counter culture would be harmful to our country, our culture and our way of life.
I can recall the many times our parents and teachers warned us about the evils of comminism and socialism and its creeping nature, and many American people have been observing, resisting and fighting against the changes which bring us closer to both ever since.
My parents and many of my teachers would have enjoyed much on this board as well. But they would also have been incensed at the intrusion of people on this forum into my personal life at the cost of its destruction, to teach me "lessons" they (my parents and teachers) spent years successfully impressing upon me.
Sucking on a washcloth and eating Jello, your so-called proof that Terri could swallow, would involve a bolus.
And what's with this "comatose patient" comparison? Are you trying to compare a comatose patient to a severely brain damaged PVS patient?
All the same to you, I guess. I sure do hope they took you off patient care.
I'm sorry, but I don't speak gibberish.
making pronouncements of opinions or disputed facts as if they were known facts
Anyone whore-marries after losingkills a loved one is a lowlife?Um, yeah.
Are you saying Michael was a bigamist? Why would you make such a statement?
"A person who lives with another woman while married to his wife is a low life."
In general, sure. There are extenuating circumstances here. I don't see how it takes away from his credibility.
"if Judge Greer says it is so well then it is so."
That's how the citizens of Florida, through their elected representatives, decided they wanted it done. If you want to change that and make the patient's life and death decision via an Internet poll, move to Florida, start a petition, and pass a referendum.
Look up bolus in the dictionary. (Hint: you're wrong)
And what's with this "comatose patient" comparison? Are you trying to compare a comatose patient to a severely brain damaged PVS patient?
If the pharyngeal reflex is present, then the distinction between PVS and coma has no bearing on the question of swallowing.
You and robertpaulsen are interchangeable, because there's no point in keeping track of which one of you I'm talking to. You both make identical arguments, have identical inability to comprehend even elementary logic, and react identically in any situation that has so far arisen on this thread. You're interchangeable, and it's spooky. I've met dumb people who reminded me of other dumb people, but I've never met a pair of individuals who are completely indistinguishable unless I double-check their nicks.
No problemo. Sometimes I have been having a little difficulty expressing myself lately.
I don't think that we'll ever get "the good old days" back, so we have to try and turn around what we can. There is a beautiful and sometimes hysterically funny thread on Ronald Reagan's quotes on the side bar. He was the first president I was old enough to vote for, and I voted for him twice.
He was a man for all seasons, and was from my mom and dad's generation. I should tell you that I came along late in their lives, and they were old enough to be my grandparents.
I don't advocate personal intrusion, but I'm a little confused as to what you're referring to.
i was just wondering if you were in terri's condition would you want to be starved and dehydrated until you die? after all George Felos says its a beautiful peaceful way to go.( yea sure it is!) I still dont understand why michael didnt just let her parents take over her care. I dont care if you say she told people that she didnt wish to be kept alive it still wasnt on a legal paper. and of course his family would say anything he asked them too. therefore in my mind its heresay. i lean toward the thought michael had reason not to want terri to ever recover. this whole thing stinks. nobody but terri and michael will ever know the truth. i feel for his children. id hate to have to think if i was his child , if i get hurt daddy will make sure that i get the same care he gave his 1st wife. and for all of you who say michael was (is) so wonderful and took such good care of terri i say yea right. sure he did. hes a ghoul and so is his buddy george felos.
They lied.
So, according to you and the Schindlers, "It was MS who took the action to destroy the comradeship with the parents." Correct?
According to Judge Greer's court order in 2000:
"On February 14, 1993, this amicable relationship between the parties was severed. While the testimony differs on what may or may not have been promised to whom and by whom, it is clear to this court that such severance was predicated upon money and the fact that Mr. Schiavo was unwilling to equally divide his loss of consortium award with Mr. and Mrs. Schindler."
Hey! How about that! Just as I said.
No. Not word for word.
You're pretty picky for one who engages in the broadest of generalizations.
Not word for word. Not even close to the same general sentiment. Just made up out of whole cloth. But then, if you stuck to the facts, you'd have no argument.
Judge greer's statements are not evidence of anything other than his own mishandling of Terri's case. The evidence is 180° contrary to greer's rulings. So it's pretty ridiculous to hold his rulings up as proof that his rulings are reflective of the evidence. When you compare his rulings to the evidence, they don't match up.
Are you saying it was present in Terri?
Yap, yap, yap. That's all you do. You got your opinions and your rumors and your gossip and your insinuations up the ying-yang with NOTHING to back them up.
Don't bother responding to me without a link backing you up. Your opinions are worthless because they're based on nothing but your own prejudices.
That is a perfect example of how Greer's court chose to take MS's side and declare it truth/fact. If you read the original transcripts of the Pearse report, you will see that it was MS's word vs the Shindlers word.
http://www.miami.edu/ethics2/schiavo/122998%20Schiavo%20Richard%20Pearse%20GAL%20report.pdf
Specifically on page 4: "In February, 1993, the ward's husband and her parents had a falling out. Mr SCHIAVO claim the argument arose because he refused to share the settlement money with the SCHINDLERS. They on the other hand, claim that Mr. SCIAVO failed to honor commitments he had previously made to continue to seek aggressive treatment for the ward's condition.. The SHINDLERS retained counsel and sought Mr. SCHIAVO's removal as guardian, but were ultimately unsuccessful."
Another piece of evidence which clearly shows the Greer court took MS's side even when the Pearse report said it was just his word vs their word. The bottom line is that you were not there and I was not there, it was his word against theirs. For no reason whatsoever the court decided to take his word over the parents and declare it a fact.
Because the man had 2 woman - he was married to one and in a common law marriage to another. In most states that is considered bigamy. The fact that he lived in Fl. saved him from actually being legally defined as a bigamist. But in essence that is what he was.
I guess you think Terri did not deserve a husband who was faithful to her or maybe you think it is ok for men to have two woman. Most woman would not want their husbands living with another woman. Terri did not deserve any less.
I don't see how it takes away from his credibility.
I suspect you never will. The guy had no morals, no sense of right and wrong. Lying comes easy to people with no morals.
It's a matter of record that she was swallowing her saliva. Why do you struggle so hard against elementary facts?
Boring.
