Fox News alert a few minutes ago says the Dover School Board lost their bid to have Intelligent Design introduced into high school biology classes. The federal judge ruled that their case was based on the premise that Darwin's Theory of Evolution was incompatible with religion, and that this premise is false.

He was very careful to review the precedents, and laid out precisely why he had jurisdiction over the case. Those who want to deny this are free to do so, but they're misinformed. And the information is so easy to find.

Just remember that any government powerful enough to shove evolution down the throats of resistant children is powerful enough to shove anything repugnant down the throats of YOUR children.

Education of the young has highly political, cultural, and religious consequences for ALL the children in the school. The only fair and rational way to solve the continual cat fights over curriculum and school policies is to PRIVATIZE all K-12 education.

If you believe in separation of school and state then you MUST also advocate for complete separation of SCHOOL and state.

My kids go to a highly acclaimed Christian Academy ( many National Merit Finalists) and they teach intelligent design in the context of how this Darwin Model of evolution continues to evolve when the "science" is shown to be false or downright lies.

But its not the courts [sic] job to step into something that is so obviously a local matter.

If you think it isn't the federal court's job to hear cases alledging a violation of the 1st amendment establishment clause, under the doctrine of "incorporation" under the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, then you need a refresher course in Constitutional law.

More to the point, if not the courts, who then, is to protect the public against the tyranny of the majority? Hypothetically, what if local voters elect public officials to violate your constitutional rights by outlawing YOUR church, to what legal authority will you appeal for relief? Remember, the majority of local voters favored this action; that's why it is called the "tyranny of the majority."
