I do not see what possible benefit ALE would have to go soft on them. The benefit of concealing the evidence of a crime of kidnap, rape and murder would be that the precious Aruban tourist industry could continue under the misrepresentation that there is no crime on Aruba.

Since tourism is the only major industry on Aruba, there is enormous pressure and incentive from the government and business to conceal crime.

What about the victim, Natalee, who had full scholarship for pre-med. What about her future. America has lost a treasure, and that treasure was lost on the little scab of an island, Aruba.

My comments regarding Dr. Phils' show yesterday start at # 1822 of this thread Frou. Many more follow as well. Phil was great. He was angry, called for a boycott of Aruba and apparently has had his own investigative team in Aruba for a while now. He told Beth that he would do ANYTHING he could to help solve this case. It was great, to say the least

The only way I see to solve this case is to use private justice. Aruba is not capable or willing to solve this crime, probably because of who was involved. They know the evil that they did to Natalee and they have chosen it. I don't care what evil befalls that island now.

As far as bribes - there are so many people involved in this "conspiracy" that the bribe tab would truly be astronomical.

Yes, the bribe tab would be truly astronomical, and could only be necessitated by the need for coverup of drug transshipment from Columbia and Venezuela, and subsequent money laundering thru Aruba's casinos and banks.

The vice can of worms in Aruba has no limits.

The only thing Geraldo said worth repeating is why no rape charges have been filed. No victim, no corroborating evidence. Joran's statement alone is not enough to make a rape case stick.

Sounds like the same reasons murder charges won't stick.
