Surinamese Deepak Kalpoe, 21, arrives to court in Oranjestad, Aruba, Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. Aruban police arrested Kalpoe and his brother Satish, 18, along with a third person according to government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg, saying he doesn't know if the arrests are connected to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Two Surinamese brothers, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, who had been detained and released in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway were arrested again Friday based on new evidence, officials said. The brothers were detained on suspicion of involvement, with unidentified 'other people,' in premeditated murder and rape, the prosecutor's office said. Person to the right is unidentified. "why would a lawyer (a risk-averse, analytical, detail-oriented nerd) get involved in a high-risk, legally-dangerous, potential career-ending, potentially marriage-ending, purely sensual adventure with his own son (yuck). Behaviorally and practically, the odds are greatly against it. Not only is Paulus not a player, he is a Nervous Nelly. He would wet his pants just thinking about the dangers of date rape."
You just answered your own question. It was like asking why people gamble. Sorry, didn't mean to be BORING... ;o)
I LOVE IT! What a quirky little web has been woven and continues to be! Ewwww! I won't ever go there, nor anyone I know, if I have comment!
I think he's a patsy. He cares, but he is too weak to change things...he has a conscience, but no backbone. He sweats...he even cries for Nat (remember when he bumped into Dave at the jail when Dave was delivering books to Jurine). He cares but he's weak.
The crimes of the weak are crimes of omission, not commission. I suggest Paulus's crime is withholding the truth to protect Jurine and others.
That's a very interesting question. What's your answer?
And at the risk of being dense...how did I answer my own question?
Naughty girl...you deserve a spanking!
The highly immoral society of Aruba and Holland says that it's ok to have sex with a 12 year old, ok to pay for sex from a prostitute who has been brutalized into her trade, ok to smoke pot in a local bar, and ok to waste one's life away on a park bench waiting for the next heroin fix. Where does one go from there? Maybe Joran was scoring chicks for his deranged old Dad. Maybe the reason Joran is so screwed up is because of a phase that his deranged old Dad went through when Joran was 13 or 14.
One last thing to you idiots on Aruba; our nose might be bloody from Mother Nature's wrath but we haven't forgotten what you chicken sh*t bastards did while our attention was diverted. If you're going to sucker punch the USA you better make sure that you take out all available options on that first punch. We have a strong dislike for con artists trying to save their on skin. We also have a very strong dislike for those that kick the helpless when they're down. If you stupid Aruban jerks want to see in a relative sense what is going to happen to your tourist economy, keep up with the trial of the nursing home owners who left 34 helpless people to fiend for themselves against Katrina's wrath.
You think it's over. Hell, boys it's only halftime and our wounds are healing pretty damn quickly. Do you think you bastards are up for the second half?
TAW
Per Rita Cosby's show tonight...
The prosecution lost her appeal.
Joran & the k2s are off the hook
permanently.
No longer considered suspects and
are free as you & me.
Hope all is well with you and your fam down in the lowlands.
God Bless, your friend, Ren.
***He said essentially "there is no body to be found." Given that lawyers by training use precise language, for him to say there is no body, he is saying either he has fist-hand knowledge (or very strong second-hand knowledge from someone he trusts) that the body was completely incinerated...or that she is still alive.***
I bet they fed her to the sharks on the side of the island where everybody feeds the sharks......
But I appreciate your effort, keep 'em coming.
I follow crime closely and what I don't like about NG is that some times her facts are completely erroneous........but that doesn't stop her....lol.....
Man, I wish I could beat the hell out of him.....I can not abide bullies and rape is the biggest bullying act around....
its "enlightened" to protect the criminals .......why punish the poor kid?....you can't bring the dead American back so who cares?.....("WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO ABOUT IT?")
She's either an enabler, or else she has been victimized/abused and is in no condition mentally to do anything about this.
(IMO of course. Am I allowed my own opinion on this horrible saga in Aruba? Or will the miscreants there object? Whatever, they can rot for all I care.)
meeting up and paying a used up prostitute is not nearly the fun of attacking a young blond girl ...what a thrill to get away with it with momma and the kids away......
I prefer, anyway, to continue thinking the very worse of Big Daddy.....rapist or not, he is an enabler which might very well be worse.....
No longer considered suspects and are free as you & me.
NO!!!

Aruban Appeal Verdict is In On Joran Van der Sloot and the Kalpoe Brothers
September 14th, 2005 by Scared Monkeys
The appeals verdict was delayed but hot off the presses, or the fax in this case.
Decision of the Superior Court
This afternoon, the Superior Court announced the decision of the appeal presented last week in the case of the three suspects Joran van der Sloot, Satish Kalpoe, and Deepak Kalpoe.
The Superior Court terminated the suspended detention completely for all three suspects. The Superior Court is in the opinion that there is not strong enough evidence or serious motive to continue the detention.
The three persons will remain suspects in the case of the Natalee Holloway disappearance.
This is the short version from the prosecutors office. Curacao will be sending a more detailed version including the DNA appeal results shortly.

Update: From the AP; Aruba Court Lifts Curbs on Three Suspects in Missing U.S. Teen Case
A court ruled Wednesday that three suspects in the disappearance of a U.S. teenager can remain free without conditions - overturning an earlier decision that restricted their travel.
The appeals court ruled there was a lack of sufficient grounds and serious suspicions to keep the restrictions on Joran van der Sloot and two Surinamese brothers, Deepak and Satish Kalpoe, the Aruban prosecutors office said.
I think many people will just be scratching their collective heads on this one. Totally free and without conditions for those who were the last ever seen with Natalee Holloway.
They are totally free, Kock said.
Vinda de Sousa, a lawyer for the Holloway family, expressed disappointment with the ruling.
Of course, its not what we were hoping for, but Im convinced that this is not the end of the investigation, de Sousa said.
The Aruban prosecutors office did not comment beyond the brief statement.

prior to learning this, I thought it was a bad idea for Beth to be going on Oprah, Dr Phil, and probably other shows of this ilk serving audiences of stepford type people.......but now, it is probably the best move, if for no reason other than calling openly and widely for a boycott of aruba which will hopefully rub off on some other 'entitlement economies' that require American tourist money to exist.......
I vote for enabler!!! *But then I don't buy into the victim thing very often--there's right, there's wrong, you get to choose*
and of course there's an exception to every general statement...but that's my opinion and I'm stickin' to it :)
That contradicts what someone else posted above. My understanding is that they weren't ordered back to jail. I think it was Dave who said there was 2 years to file charges.
