The Island is 6 to 7 miles deep by about 20 miles long
B-1 = California Lighthouse - where the boys claim they took her first after leaving the Bar.
D-3 = #4 is the location of the 2 Marriott Hotels - where the 2 brothers (and now Joran) claim they dropped Joran and Natalee off after leaving the lighthouse - the 2 brothers claim they went home to Hooiberg after that.
D-3 = #19 is the location of the Holiday Inn where Natalee was staying.
G-5 = Where the red #2 marker is pointing to is the area that the Carlos & Charlie Bar is located
D-4 = Township of Montana is where Joran lives
F-7/8 = Hooiberg (Haystack Mountain) - The 2 Kalpoe brothers live in this area at the foot of the Haystack Mountian.
C-9 = By the Natural Bridge on the map is the location where the sharks hang out as they are fed at this location. This is the Shark Infested Feeding Area.

This is a discussion thread about the daily occurrences in the Natalee Holloway Case.

It is not a thread for bashing Natalee - Natalee's Family or Natalee's Friends.
It also is not an ongoing discussion thread for any other cases.
I also think Shango's world is limited. He doesn't know about the overarching presence on Aruba of a criminal enterprise run by the Casa Nostra and their inheritors. Shango is all about sex and orgies. While distasteful, it occurs everywhere and entire governments don't go to the extremes to protect people involved in such.
This government on Aruba is owned by entities who are not Aruban. And not Dutch. The Shango world is just their private Aruban perversion. The big dogs are much bigger.
It could be true, but call me skeptical.
His best friend is PvdS.
It's been reported he's JvdS's godfather.
His retirement/non-renewal of his contract was recently announced, and according to Jossy Mansur there were some differences.

I think we are in agreement.
But the highly corrupt drug center of the Caribbean is no place I want to spend my vacation dollars. It doesn't seem like government or accountability has changed much there since the pirate days.

Seems like the competing factions on the island are first the transnational criminals, second the corrupted government, third the local druggies and orgiers and the civil servants. The latter seem to be trying to have some sort of say with the former.
The place is a damned sewer. Some decent people are there but afraid of everything,,the government, the corrupt businesses, the local druggies. Damn, sounds like a new kind of hell.
Seems like if this is a drug haven, that's enough of an excuse for a Warship to have some operations in the area. They can sit anchored about 5 miles out and present a nice profile for the folks of Oranjestad to gawk at. The message will be nice and clear.
Now, for one missing person, this is not something I'm suggesting. For an ongoing drug detection and interdiction operation or drills, this is a fine reason. The WOD must be won dontchaknow.
I had heard that Jug was in insurance in some way FWIW.
What kind of contacts did P have? I keep thinking Amsterdam, drugs and prostitution. Natalee is a beautiful woman. Before I didn't see any reason to think that someone in P's position would have anything to do with the underworld, but his upper world may have been coming apart and he had just spent a year in Holland. It's been reported that he may well have seen Joran with Natalee before this night. Maybe he wanted Joran to bring her back home. And maybe the fear of the underworld is why everyone we see on TV act like pod people. They really are afraid. There are probably mob figures, DEA and Dutch intelligence there. ORANJESTAD - Over the week-end of June 25 and 26 the base ship of the Dutch Marine in the Caribbean area, Hr. Ms. Van Speyk, intercepted some 1,800 kilos of cocaine in international waters. The drugs were hidden in the ship D’Mary, that was on its way from the leeward islands to Central America.

The crew of the D’Mary and the cocaine were turned over to the competent US law enforcement agencies. The will be charged and tried in accordance with US laws and will probably have to serve a long jail sentence.

I heard that what she publicly revealed about what PVDS said to Joran is privileged info and could get her arrested both here and in Aruba. She may have really messed up there in her zeal and concern. Also, she may be under a lot of pressure there to stand down. The underworld there seems to have a lot of influence and she may have been threatened. If not her life, then her job threatened by the authorities who have worked so hard to cover their tracks. I doubt very seriously was out sunning at the beach for her own pleasure yesterday.

Did I not read that Paulus was a teacher? I wonder about that. And on a page somewhere, Anita wanted to be a "spiritual leader". Hah!
The other possibility here is that the authorities know that Daddy is the real perp and are offering up Joran to take the fall. Two things get accomplished. The underbelly of their beast doesn't get exposed (they hope) and they figure a juvenile won't get much punishment.
The Kalpoe's stepfather said that they had not denied Equisearch access onto their property. That if they came they would be allowed to search. That the media had been reporting about them incorrectly. I don't trust the media there either, so I'm willing for the time being to grant that he's correct. Greta said that they had let her in and talked with her each time she came. All three boys may be being set up for scapegoats. I DO think they were involved, but I don't think they were the primary perps.
Near the beginning of this investigation, it was leaked and reported that the authorities knew Natalee was dead. I suspect that that was true and they know it. People there are covering up more than her murder and are trying to outlast the Holloways so that public scrutiny will go away.

The hints from the tipsters and the early rumors about Lorenzo made it sound as though Lorenzo was psycho and potentially violent. Subsequent hints were that he has slaughtered dogs, that he was getting friendly attention from Natalee during the first 3 days of her vacation (because he seemed cool and crazy), and that he got pissed off and jealous when she began paying attention to Joran. I believe also that Lorenzo is 5 or 6 years older than Joran and rumors say he has buddies in the drug and police realms. Oh yeah, and it is rumored that LORENZO, and not Joran, is featured in the video of the gang rape of the 14 year old girl.
These things may explain why nobody is speaking. If I was a teenager in-the-know, I wouldn’t risk my neck going up against a corrupt police official and his psycho-dog-slaughtering-Natalee-raping-and-slaughtering-gang-rape video-making buddy. Especially if it also meant possibly busting my friends and also getting myself in trouble with the law / my parents for taking drugs or hanging out at illegal drug parties.
I wonder if maybe Paulus and/or Joran are involved in this because of gambling debts?? Is it possible that, since father and son were both at the HI casino together that night, they were trying to make arrangements for their debts while mama was out of town? It seemed a little strange to me that papa left son there without a way home. If Joran ran up the debts, delivering a young girl might be a way to pay them off. Could be he originally chickened out and walked to McD's and called papa to come get him. We know that PVDS picked him up there around 11:00 pm.
Once back home papa boosted son's courage and sent him back out. Joran goes to C&C's because he knows NH is there. He enlists the help of Deepak for tranportation purposes. He slips her some drugs, rides her around until they take effect and does indeed leave her on the beach. Maybe he leaves her alone...or with someone who's job is to transport her somewhere else. Deepak and Satish may not have known what was going to happen. Once they figure it out they may have asked for some hush money, hence the ATM withdrawals.
Or ... I might be nuts and need to stop thinking about this so much!
I've been saying that about Arlene Ellis-Schipper on previous posts. She's beautiful and articulate. She puts Marianne Croes to shame. They should interview he more often. She can at least put a nicer "face" on the Aruban legal system.
