Charges Against Teen Upgraded After Dog He Allegedly Raped Dies

A Campobello teen is accused of raping one neighbor's dog and another neighbor's two little girls. Now the dog has died and charges against the teen have been upgraded.

After receiving word that the dog died possibly because of the rape. Fox Carolina called the Solicitor's office to see if now new charges would be filed against the teen. An hour later Solicitor Trey Gowdy called to say that the charges will be upgraded to the "most serious animal cruelty charges they have on the books."

The dog's owner Sylvia Jones says, "At first when it happened, I couldn't eat or sleep every morning I'm waking up thinking Princess is there but she's not.

Princess's little dog house is empty now. Sylvia Jones says she died of internal bleeding this past Sunday because of the rape. "The vet told me she had a little blood in her urine and that she was bleeding inside."

Sylvia says she and her husband would not have believed Cory Williamson raped Princess exactly two weeks to the day she died had they not seen it with their own eyes.

"When I got here we were laying on the deck looking at him and he had his pants down and he was doing sexual activity with the dog like a man would do to a woman."

The Jones family says Princess wouldn't eat or play anymore after the attack. "She (Princess) couldn't even sit down, her bottom was swollen sore."

Neighbors worry that if Williamson is accused of raping a dog and molesting two girls in the same neighborhood, who knows what might happen next.

Since you started this thread that made so many of us want to commit violence upon this male criminal, vomit due to the subject matter and befuddles us to the journalistic lack of skills in writing the article ect...

Would be so kind to ping me to a follow up on what happens to this mental case and those he injured.

Forgive me if I am repeating other responses because I have not read the entire thread.

However, I read the article from the newspaper. Nine-tenths of the article dealt with the violation of the dog and how it suffered. If that doesn't give us a clue about the moron media, nothing ever will. What about the violation of those little girls??-I guess a dog is more important than children.

Some illnesses are best cured with the ancient medicinal practices, rope.

Chop off his member.

After doing two girls and now a dog.......so violently it BLED TO DEATH....

he doesn't have the right to ever use it again.

And, if he bleads to death from the Lorenna Bobbit act, well, oops.

If I see this man, he is going to get it.

And he won't be able to tell who I am.

If I wrote the story (and I write for a newspaper), I would have done the same.

The latest offense naturally gets the most attention, even if the previous one is worse.

The other two attacks occurred last year.

If we got hit by Bin Laden again tomorrow, but he hit only one target and only 50 died, it would get the most attention of the stories, but I guarantee you they would have a footnote to round out and close the story in a balanced way, a "tag," describing the Sept. 11 attacks. But, it would only be the concluding paragraph, not more than that despite being worse.

The two attacks on the girls occurred last year. The dog is most recent. Therefore, it gets the most attention. I am sure they did long stories on the girls at the time that happened (if not, some people need to be fired).

The first time it has happened?

You can't be serious......bestiality is pretty rare, but not that rare. I am sure hundreds of dogs have been raped over the centuries since Europeans settled in America.

If a horny pervert will do goats, horses etc....they sure as heck would do a dog.

Don't underestimate the perversity of the sinful human mind.

However, you are right about uniqueness. That is a news value..when something is odd or rare, it gets covered.

Also, since this occurred a year after the rape of the girls and is the latest incident, obviously this would get the attention.

I do wonder why he wasn't punished more for the girls. That occurred last year, and he is out already.....or was never even in prison.

That is disturbing.

Again, for those who don't understand.....

The rape of the girls occurred last YEAR.

The stories on those horrible incidents would have been written THEN.

The dog happened RECENTLY THIS YEAR.

Recency is a news value....something that is recent will get more coverage than something that happened last year. I am sure people who read their local paper saw the stories last year about the rapes of the girls. There would be no sense in rehasing all the horrible details again.

Since they don't know the details of the dog incident, yes, it gets more attention because it is recent.

They don't ignore the girls, even putting it very high up in the lede to make sure people don't think he just raped and murdered the dog.

But, why would a reporter cover something with the same depth they did a year later and ignore the latest thing, the dog?

The reporter did fine here.

I just don't think some of you understand how news works. If something new happens, you write about the NEW THING.

You don't write about the old thing.

You are just upset because the story is focusing on the animal rather than the people. That doesn't mean the reporter thinks the animal's suffering is more important than the girls. It just means that because the dog is latest and people *don't know* about that story, it will get most of the space.
