You know very well why this case is in the courts.
This happens every single day in this country and the decisions are made by the family members, even when some of them disagree.
Nerves are raw around here .. it's understandable .. and hopefully when they calm down .. they will see things clearer
Heh. :-)
No one here is devaluing human life. The woman is dead and has been for 15 years. Her spirit is gone and her body is a husk that her clueless parents wish to keep alive for their own selfish reasons.
I disagree with the manner of her eminent death, but if anyone in those families had sense they would have sent her Home years ago.
I appreciate your forgiving tone, but they are just flat-out lying about what the 11th did - the claim is that they "granted a hearing, then denied it". To the contrary, the ONLY thing they granted was leeway for the Schindlers to file a request for rehearing even though they missed the deadline for doing so.
What if it's used to pay legal bills? And why is it disgusting and shameful? Because Dan Abrams says so?
deacon, if you don't can't see the devaluation of human life presented here, i can't help you. step back and look at it. i think the majority of freepers DO get it, and they are not the ones calling for armed insurrection and they aren't on this thread, carrying on about how unhinged everyone else is for the most part, either.
Yes, I realize that .. and they are cases where there is no life remaining .. or no hope of being cured of their cancer or other disease
In this case .. there are many conflicts, bad lawyers and differences of opinion in the medical field
And since there are conflicts of what her wishes really are
She has been ordered by the court to die
your post, unfortunately, speaks exactly to my point.
Yes, they trained her to do that but unfortunately she didn't always do it when asked.
But if you float the ballon over her 100 times and ignores it ... but follows it once! The video it totally misleading.
See post 1651. :)
The court is following FL law.
I disagree with the manner of her eminent death, but if anyone in those families had sense they would have sent her Home years ago.
That's right.
Well said.
One curious aspect to the complaints about the Schiavo case is the carping about how improper it is to have the courts making decisions where there is a dispute between family members. Where else would such disputes be resolved? State legislatures? Congress?
I can certainly understand disagreement with the court's ultimate decision (I disagree with court decisions almost daily), but the systemic objections are odd.
Thank you. Maybe one day I can get back on the forum without being called Hitler.
I was called Pol Pot on one thread. For the sake of variety I suppose.
I never said she wasn't brain damaged but I do say she is not PVS. I've seen some ADD kids react like her, too.
ping, BTW.
Did I say they were correct??
No .. I think I basically said nerves around her are raw and many are not thinking clear
