The shot heard around the Internet has been fired on FreeRepublic.com The owner Jim Robinson and his moderators have launched a sniper style purge against members that disagree with the President’s ‘guest worker’ amnesty or support more control of illegal immigration. Free Republic is an amazing tool for those looking for a good debate and news from around the country.
The problem for the administration of the site is that their creation is allowing the participants to learn that the Bush immigration record and plans are shockingly out of line with the views of most conservatives. The management’s answer to this conflict between the majority of conservatives and the influence of the White House on their Web site has become electronic executions and censorship.
Members and readers of Free Republic would be surprised to know that many members of their community have fallen silent on the discussions about illegal immigration lately because free speech is an illusion on FR.com. They are silent because they have been banned from the Web site without warning, cause, or explanation in most cases. For weeks the moderators have been suspending and banning new members that chimed in quickly on the immigration debates.
Now this trend has broadened as the first groups of long-term users were suspended or banned this past week. Although Robinson and his staff removed many members of the Free Republic community in the first few days of the purge, those that religiously support President Bush’s immigration plan, open borders and approve of public benefits for illegal aliens remain on the forum. Those that were banned were the members that wanted more done to control illegal immigration and a strict observance to the President’s Oath of Office.
How are they not assimilating?
They wear the same clothes everyone else does, including hipsters.
They eat at McDonalds and Pizza Hut
They bury their children in the same veterans' cemeteries with the same crosses on the headstones.
They work 8 to 5 jobs without siestas
They cheer the Houston Astros and Texans
They belong to the same Christian denominations
They shop at the same malls
Drive the same Japanese cars
Watch the same flat screen TVs
Learn the English required to function satisfactorily on the job, in school, or at Target.
What is it about their assimilation that disturbs you?
Do you have a problem with them preying in Spanish in their homes, eating tacos, listening to Tejauno music, letting their elderly live in their homes instead of putting them in retirement communities, not allowing their daughters to stay out all nite at age 14, not aborting their babies, playing soccer instead of hockey, ...
What exactly is your assimilation complaint?
Very true but I don't expect the revisionists who wish to take the GOP in other directions will stop pretending he never did.
I have a problem with them booing American soccer players, working to make part of the U.S. a part of Mexico. The list could go on and on.
True --- some are content with nothing less than the USA becoming another Latin American country. Failed cultures have a right to come here and make it a clone of one of their own countries --- simply because the effort to fix their homelands is too much to accomplish.
It's so funny how they are so gleeful to have "won" here on the forum while they are getting pummeled politically simply because there are enough Pubbies in the House and Senate who know their constituients don't want this. But FR's resident "quasi-amnesty-forgiveness-whatever-immigration" gang are dancing in their own defeat. It's priceless...somebody get me a credit card. When are we going to have a real poll here in all fairness?

How about a $5000 annual fee for the Guest Worker Visa?
That would equate to $5 Billion / 1 Million Guest Workers.
That should cover any expenses borne upon the states.

That plus employer provided health insurance, housing, food, workman's comp and everything else. (You want them you pay for them) and the taxpayers pay nothing. But then their employers will find them too costly and just hire Americans.

My side has been whacked on this forum of late....course our opponents did have the only firepower that counts around here on their side.
And that "doing something" amounts to making a pact with the racists in the Mexican upper class --- following their demands to the letter or they call us racists for not going along with their ethnic cleansing.
I read recently how the Mayan Indians are suffering so much at the hands of the current Mexican government that they are packing up leaving their ancestral lands --- Mayan Indians have existed in Mexico for several thousands of years --- and no longer can. If we don't take them --- then the Mexican government will say we're racists.
I think Mexican novelas sort of explain the split personality of Mexican Culture as percieved versus reality.
The race card is a tool of the idiot socialist.......illegal, crime and terrorism is NOT a race issue yet those that defend such still try and glue the term racists against those who don't comply with their personal agenda.
