Yeah, Old fogey nostalgia really runs rampant in sports; and a lot of the comments about sports on threads, talk radio, just seem to be the same old cliches about everything going to hell in a handbasket.

NBA teams in the 70s had a guy on the roster just to fight, like hockey enforcers.

Actually, there haven't been many brawls in the NBA for a long, long time.

My personal favorite was when Sedale Threatt of the Sixers knocked Danny Ainge silly in the 1980s..I think Dr. J won that game with a three.

Don't you get sick of that? The time when most sports fans came of age as a fan is the most glorified in their own mind. Baseball and Football were never no magical as they were when I was a child in the 60's. No way does sports today have the same luster as it did to me then. I am sure the most magical period in baseball for my Dad was the 30's and the 60's paled in comparison to that time. And I am logical to know that its not because the sports have deteriorated. 75 percent of the player in the 60's probably could not make rosters today. The product is better but not as magical and the reason it is not is all in our heads. Nothing wrong with that. IT is the nature of nostalgia.

LOL! Your telling me. You can tell some of these clowns have never sports pro or otherwise. I have seen more fights at AYSO (kids) soccer matches then in the NBA or NFL. Parents attacking coaches, and players. Players attacking eachother. Don't even get me started on little league.
